Yeah, it’s his left and it’s carnaged. Doesn’t stop him trying though, proper hard core warrior. Puts so many other sports “stars” to shame. Wood can’t play because he’s not quite ready? Needed him here, now.
Problem is it’s carrying a number of players. Tongue added some impetus but elsewhere it was shockingly bad.
That’s the ashes done for this series then. Congratulations @aussielad
If you’d been in Istanbul, you’d have left at half time.
LFC >>>>>>>England Cricket team
Have to do the old gag. Liverpool guaranteed to win their first match of next season. They’re playing the England cricket team.
At Lords.
We’ve been sucking at Lords for a while now
At least wait until your team have batted. If we can make runs and quickly on this pitch, then it means there are runs in it. England could draw level or even ahead by lunch tomorrow. Who knows?
Yeah, classic old cricketing lesson, never judge a pitch / match until both teams have batted. Crucially, another classic, a test is won and lost in the 3rd innings. We need early wickets. Batting by lunch would go a long way to rectifying yesterday’s anaemia.
You and your hobbies
Davey Warner doing The S*n crossword.
Yet another reason to hate him.
Surprised he’s got enough braincells in him to be attempting the crossword
Now the game starts.
From the BBC:
Australia have 416 on the board but still bowl the first ball of the innings with three men on the fence.
A serious test for England. They have to match or surpass Australia’s score. Really time for certain people to stand up and be counted. We can’t always rely on Root.
I don’t believe in the idea of tempting fate.
But I’m not going to.
Fucking hell - Root lucky, but England are sounding somewhat shaky after Pope fucked it up.
Duckett and Root need to make it to the end of the day now.
A bit of a test for Bazball here. Normally you’d let the short stuff go and force the bowlers to adjust their length, but if you’re expecting to score of every delivery, you are bound to take chances.
And there it is. Duckett just couldn’t help himself.
