Just got back from Taunton, £5 and saw an incredible day of cricket.
Yesterday evening, Tom Banton came in at #11 having rolled his ankle. Batting on one leg he made it through to the close, and today ended up making 46(65) before eventually being bowled by Shakib.
220 for Surrey to win and effectively win the County Championship, should have been straightforward but for some reason they decided to try and just bat the day out for the draw. Big mistake, Jack Leach and Archie Vaughan (son of Michael, poor lad) both take five wickets in the second innings, Leach getting the final wicket two minutes before the end of play. Vaughan got 11 in the match, looks like another decent spinning prospect being produced by Somerset.
A victory made even more sweet after Tom Curran decided to cup his ears and shush the crowd earlier in the match, grade A prick right there.
The winning moment, and Banton hobbling onto the field .

SA 45/7 against Afghanistan in an ODI
So much cricket on over the coming weeks, Bangladesh have let India off the hook after having them in an awful position at 96-4. NZ and SL fighting out a competitive test in Galle.
Perhaps most importantly Duckett and Jacks are slapping Australia all over the place at Trent Bridge. Aussies bowling attack looks a bit weak without those who have been struck down with illness/injury, still a very strong batting unit though. Will take a big score to win the game.
Just managed to catch the highlights of the india Bangladesh game.
Ashwin and Jadeja saved the team bigtime.
Should be an easy chase for Australia, some crap batting by England. Gifted wickets to part time bowlers.
Great knock by Brook. Aussies missing Zampa of course, but at least it keeps the series alive.
What is the story with Woods’ injury?
I saw an interview he did before the game yesterday, and it makes no sense. He had an issue with his groin during the last test, went for a scan and they found something wrong with his elbow is the way he told the story.
Well, at least it wasn’t a wrist injury they found after having a groin problem
I don’t follow England cricket, particularly not the one day format.
Is this the new look England team or are they using this series to blood a lot of youngsters?
I can’t say really, there always seems to be a lot of churn with one day teams. You rarely get a settled side for some reason.
A bit of both. A number of recent retirements, injuries to certain players and a few being rested has resulted in this selection. Team looks more setup to be a T20 side which is probably why they were so bad with the bat in the first two games, could do with somebody like Root to hold things together for 30 or so overs in the middle but for whatever reason they didn’t pick players with a similar skill set and have pretty much gone with all big hitters.
The ball moves a bit and these two quality opening bowlers are making Salt look like an amateur, missed the ball by a huge way about 15 times already.
Hell of a total set by England there, Brook and Livingstone fantastic. Australia will deserve all of the plaudits if they manage to chase that.
Convincing win for England. Aussies probably not used to playing in winter weather.
Kamindu Mendis is having a monster start to his career.
England collapsing from a promising position.
Weather permitting , there could be a cracking days play tomorrow.
India have muscled their way to trying to make a horribly rain effected test into a test which can have a result.
Nature is healing lol
India chasing another 66 runs with 9 wickets in hand on the final day.
If Bangladesh pull off a win from here, this would have to be up there as the biggest choke in sport history
Always a tough task for Bangladesh to win.
But I’d rather a team crash and burn chasing a win rather than play out a meaningless draw.
