Mac Allister is in pain and wasn’t able to train with Argentina. Elliott has returned to Liverpool to be further assessed.
Not an auspicious start on the injury front.

Not sure what has happened with the Mac situation as we saw a few clips of him after the game and he was walking without any issue. Fingers crossed it is just a precaution and one they are sensible with given their currently strong position in qualifying and Chile are not very good.
Maybe Slot is doing what certain other managers are/were well known for doing and encouraging his players to find reasons to miss international games of little importance.
Old Red Nose and Powdered Nose turned it into an artform, while we sat back and watched key players come back crocked time and time again.
Two managers that Liverpool fans everywhere have always wished we could emulate.
I despise them both as much as the next man, but you can’t deny their success. Personally, I’d have no issue with any Liverpool player dodging the odd meaningless friendly / Nation’s League to ensure they remained fit for us.
That is good, it gives the lads a bit of a break before their next game. Much like Fergie used to do in the 90’s when he would pull their players out of international call ups for friendlies
Also, with what happened with Quansah, they see that if someone comes in and performs as Konate has, then they get the shirt. Meritocrisy at its best, so you can’t afford an injury or miss games, with the competition for places thst we have.
I always thought it was incredible how Ryan Giggs would pick up niggles exactly in sync with international breaks. When it came to the National Team Giggs had absolutely no luck.
Keane too.
To be fair, most of Wales’ qualifying runs in that era would start with a 3-0 loss at home to someone shit like Moldova making the next 2 years of games glorified friendlies
