Just finished watching the new version of The Crow.
I know it got panned but I honestly didnt mind it on its own.
How did I not know this…
The film was based on the exploits of an actual guy..
John “Liver-Eating” Johnson was a name that struck fear across the Rocky Mountains—especially among the Crow Indians. After a group of Crow reportedly killed his wife and unborn child, Johnson went on a brutal path of revenge. Over the years, he is said to have killed around 113 Crow warriors. Legends say of him “cutting out and eating their livers as a message of vengeance.”
To the tribes, he became a ghost story, a living legend—the boogeyman of the frontier. This is one of three known photos of him.

I’m right here…
Saw a clip of Glengarry Glen Ross (yeah it was the Alec Baldwin scene) on youtube and it compelled me to re-watch it for the first time in a while. Think movies have forgotten how to have absorbing/engrossing dialogue or I’m just watching the wrong modern films. After watching Adolescence though, I think television is at least picking up the slack.
Home Alone guy that isnt Pesci
"Ryan Gosling has been cast in the next Star Wars film, it has been announced.
The academy award-nominated actor will portray a new – as yet unnamed – character in the film, which is set five years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
The 44-year-old Canadian will star in Star Wars: Starfighter, which is due to open in theatres on May 28 2027 and will be directed by Shawn Levy."
Why, even though I’m a big fan of Star Wars am I really pensive about this?
With LucasFilm these days dont believe anything about movies in development until you see a trailer. It is an aimless stumbling studio at the moment.
This is the third film being pitched as in the aftermath of the last of the sequels. There is a Rey film, which obviously is a continuation from episode 9, but there is also the Simon Kinberg trilogy that he has been brought in to write and direct being positioned as episodes 10-12. How does all that go together? What does it say about the vision and ideas that such a mishmash of competing ideas could be greenlit?
I assume the Mandalorian and Grogu movie is real, but they are still reporting that Filoni (the guy behind much of the successful animated stuff) is developing a his own film that he says ties pieces together from the threads of the Mandalorian and Boba Fett series, which like above sounds like they step on each other
There are then probably as many as 10 or 15 other projects Kennedy has greenlit that are in some state of development hell (see the Rey film), completely stalled, or officially cancelled. It really feels like throwing a bunch of shit against the wall and just seeing what happens. It would be par for the way Kennedy has run LucasFilm if the only two projects she gets out of the door both claim to be episode 10
The Mandalorian movie is due out May 26. They have been showing footage from the film in a couple of screenings to journalists recently.
Could the Filoni one be an animated one?
No. It’s supposed to extend what they’re doing with the Rasario dawson character, the show that I still havent seen.
