Not sure what the answer is… but I remember when I lived in Cornwall for 8yrs; near this place of St Columb Major; and due to being an ‘outsider’… I was goaded into taking part in this each year.
Talk about being a rough game, the A& E in Truro was always ram-jam packed for a full 48hrs afterwards… broken bones, concussions, eye socket damage, you name it, it occurred.
Obviously, being a Scouser amongst all the Cornish, I used to get hammered each time… Talk about taking one for the team, and not letting the Liverpool brand down eh… It was ruthless :0)
