10 bob
I can remember getting a ten bob note on my birthday and thinking I was loaded ![]()
Sometimes it would be a postal order
That would mean they, as a club, have finally come to their senses. Iraola is a great coach, heād be walking into a rejuvinated team that would also invest heavily in the summer ahead of CL return.
Carrick has done a really admirable job but itās likely also ramped up the pressure again for whomever is in the seat next year. The expectations are going to be an improvement on what is likely to be a 3rd place finish this year and its a much harder job to take a team from this to legit challenging than it is to do the job that Carrick has done with them. My biggest concern with Iriola in charge is he seems like a decent man and I wouldnt want to be rooting for him to fail. Cāest la vie
Michael Carrick is expected to be offered the chance to continue as Manchester Unitedās head coach after qualifying for the Champions League.
Carrick has not held talks regarding turning his interim role into a permanent one because the executive were intent on waiting to see whether he could lead United into Europeās top club competition.

Heās losing.
The king is leaving, the rook is on the bench, we havenāt even signed a queen, his knight canāt play during the day and he wants to sell all the pawns.
Ah but Iām not that sure Carrick is much better for them.
They looked a mess in defence yesterday.
Called it !

Looking on the bright side ⦠Carrickās hopes of being Utd manager next year will be much improved.
Yeah, they are massively improved, but still well below where theyād need to be to take the next step and challenge. It should also seriously concern them how much of their improvement has been driven by a return to form of Casimiro who is leaving, and Bruno who is going to be 32 at the start of next season.
I think the prospect of further improvement is a lot smaller than the prospect of heightened expectations not being met. When Kenny took over from Roy we had the second best point tally of anyone from that point on, potentially good enough to mount a credible title challenge if we could sustain the next season for 38 games. We blew it up with a series of dubious moves though and Kennyās tenure imploded. Thatās basically the trap door that Carrick is sitting on now, with a far less well performing side than the one Kenny turned us in to in his caretaker season
Not buying any of this.
The only reason they are going to finish in the Top7 is because they were allowed to fully concentrate on the PL. No midweek games in Europe and crashed out of the domestic Cups early.
They will be shit again next season.
depends who they sign really.
definately on the up though, and showing signs of a clear path to progress.
But they are still owned by the Glaziers and big Jim, so their talent to fuck things up still is always real.
Another false dawn? Thereās every chance they let him spend big money then bin him by Octoberā¦
I mean, which other club would do something like that?
Chelsea?
Spursy?
Objectivelly, I donāt see much wrong if they stick with Carrick a little longer. They donāt āhave toā win the title next season, but further work and progression is needed of course.
We know by our own and other examples that going from where they come from to where they want to be doesnāt necessarily happen over night and without some issues along the way.
We can shout āfalse dawnā all we want until they eventually get it right (they will at some point). Same as the opposite and that has proved to be largely unsucessful so far in the last more than a decade.
congratulations to the man who asked to be subbed during his teams 7-nil drubbing at Anfield!
heās come a long wayā¦
