Though I also understand they’re left incredibly thin in the heart of midfield at the moment.
Left basically only with Mainoo as a serious option and he’s exactly the player who will keep Tielemans out of the side most of the time.

For all Tieleman’s talent, he’s the sort of guy who has no fight.
Expect him to be one of the first to undermine the coach especially when United have a tough couple of matches. He’s done the same when he was at Leicester.

They can’t help themselves. They’ve been talking all summer about signing a marquee midfielder instead of the best midfielder for their needs.
I guess from their view though, it is a budget signing, so leaves them in better shape to spend big on another target.

Precisely. I assume the clause is so low because they got him on a cheap (or on a free), so Man United are getting a very good, PL-experienced midfielder for what is considered peanuts in modern football.

We did get the likes of Shaqiri on the free as well. One would assume Tieleman’s is a replacement for Eriksen.
