No, I would think they play alongside each other as the 2 10s Amorim plays. One of the problems they faced last season was in relying heavily on Bruno being their creative attacker. Teams would shut him down, forcing him to drop too deep, and then Utd were unable to work the ball into opposing penalty areas. That will be harder to do with Cunha there.
They brought in Bruno under Ole and he WAS a great signing from them - but they still didnāt win shit. I agree that heās a good player, but They still havenāt solved their massive issues in GK, CB, WB, CM, and ST. Theyāre years away from competing, and thatās if they get their incomings, outgoings, and tactics right for the next few seasons.
Amorim showed last season that heās not going to make it at this level, just like Villas-Boas before him.
Sure, but I donāt think anyone suggests the signing of him alone will be enough to get them competing with the top four - If it helps push them back to the top 6 or 8 in the premier league that will be a significant improvement on this season (and if you can finish around there, then you have every chance of winning silverware if you are in the Europa league or its more recent junior offshoot).
There start for for the 25/26 season from August through to October reads
Arsenal (h)
Fulham (a)
Burnley (h)
City (a)
Chelsea (h)
Brentford (a)
Sunderland (h)
Liverpool (a)
Brighton (h)
Take out their 2 home games against newly promoted teams, and I canāt see them having that many points. Maybe a couple of draws against Fulham and Brentford
One game a week!!! We beat Arsenal last year followed by an easy trip to Fulham. Weāll beat Burnley and we always lift against City. Am actually exepcting to be top of the league in September. Did I say we only have one game a week??!?!!
