The story of Ruben Amorim: Man Utd's new manager branded the 'second Special...
From rejection at Benfica to new Manchester United head coach, BBC Sport charts the rise of Ruben Amorim.

I saw the headline to this and thought wtf would they do that for ? And then I had to laugh ;
âJonny Evans was flanked by Yoro to his right and Shaw to the left. Antony was the right wing-back, Tyrell Malacia the left wing-back.â
God weâve got several weeks of this wankfest.
It makes the inevitable downfall that much sweeter. Their fanbase gets all confused - how could this happen again???
You love to see it.
Several weeks?! Heâll get them playing CL in his first season, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville will explode out of âI told you soâ, Prime Minister will be so happy that the powerhouse of Manchester is back, he might even reroute some public funding into their new stadium! Weâll never hear the end of it!
But we also know that all it will only take is a 1-0 against Ipswich on the weekend for you to be convinced that Utd are back ![]()
So long as we keep on quietly racking up the wins and staying clear at the top, I will be ok if Man Utdâs fight for a Europa spot occupies the headlines for a bit.
Since they arenât getting him the ball, isnât his conversion rate based on a small sample?
United went too big on the concept of inverted wingers.
United went too big on the concept of shit wingers
This is the kind of crap I come out with if I havenât finished some report.
âLook I wanted to include all Novemberâs figures so youâll have to wait til the 2nd of December for your reportâ
Found Mubsyâs twitter handle.
This is an interesting sliding doors moment - Lewi claiming he was close to signing for Utd in 2012, but Dortmund were very reluctant to let him go after having lost so many key players already from their two title wins.

In this alternate timeline that means Utd sign a 24 year old peak Lewondowski rather than a 30 year old rapidly rotting RVP setting them up much better for the subsequent seasons. He would have also been on far less money and contributed more for longer. But it also sets up a sequence of events where it allows them protection against the wage increase spiral they quickly fell into. Rooneyâs threat to leave in 13 or 14 was an existential threat given their lack of other attacking quality with RVP by that time worthless, but it wouldnt have worked like that with a 25 goal a season Lewi there. Maybe they get out of the Rooney situation without such an explosion of their salary structure and without setting the stage for all the madness that came afterwards.
Or alternately, Lewandowski joins the list of players who looked great at Dortmund, then made a poor move that derailed the trajectory their career was on, the Polish Dembele for example. I think Bayern timed his acquisition about right.

Hopefully the second special ones stint at United is as short lived as the OG special ones time there.

I am a dreamer.
Youâd have to be fucking delusional to fancy this United side to win anything.
