I’m not sure if you noticed but I was being sarcastic.
This article is truly heart-wrenching…
can you imagine the scenes, if you invaded another internationally-recognized state and levelled their parliament buildings. Even after 9/11 the US didn’t have the fucking stones to do that.
Israel won’t stop until they annex Gaza. writing is on the wall here.
I didn’t watch the video until I read this post. From the description, I thought it was destroyed in fighting.
Not a bloody deliberate, controlled demolition.
This is truly gut wrenching
I’m asking you mam, do you think I went to medical school to leave my patients.
He was just 36. Two kids, 4 and 5 years old.
This vote is showing us which Labour members still have integrity and balls (though it’s mostly women). Putting ambition aside and voting with their conscience and constituents.
Labour Party should split. Let Starmer and his power-hungry cowards become the old Tory party. New Tories are the BNP. Then Labour can become the Labour Party again
And never get into power again?
What difference will it make under Starmer?
This is relevant to this thread.
- Any details on who else, other than 56 Labor and SNP (43), voted for the amendment?
- Do the Labor MPs have a significant Muslim/minority community in their constituencies?
- From what I’ve seen some of the Labour MP’s come from constituencies with a big Muslim community. Places like Bradford , Manchester , Birmingham , Luton etc.
Does this help?
According to the last census, there are nearly four million Muslims in the UK and 278,000 Jews. From a purely numerical viewpoint, not condemning the Israeli government’s actions is akin to shooting oneself in the foot.
What I find so frustrating about this war is that the aim of Hamas in killing 1200 Israelis and taking the hostages was to goad the IDF to kill thousands more Palestinians and Israel fell for it. What I don’t understand though is that I would have assumed that Hamas would first have got assurances that Iran would kick off big time in the north and neighbouring countries would also get involved. It looks unlikely but it might still happen if Israel carries on with the indescriminate bombing long enough. Hamas surely have not initiated this particular outbreak of war with Israel without having got some assurances. That is madness. I just don’t get it.
All that life lost, and for what?
It’s a self-selecting online survey so only really indicative of those who filled the survey out rather than the Muslim population as a whole. Then again, I can understand their concern that, for many, support for Israel is merely a mask for Islamophobia and other forms of bigotry. I think many Jewish people can see through this veil as well.
