I donāt understand why they donāt just send them to Rwanda?
surely thereās a hotel that can fit them all

Similar to when the hostages got shot.
Never seen such a high tech army with such a lack a discipline.
From shooting those waving white flags (like video above) to Tok Tok videos.
Bizarre that they would cut the actual footage of the shot out.
As for it being an unusual degradation of discipline, I would not say it is unusual at all, except maybe the TikTok videos. That sort of incident is commonplace in every situation at all like this (Afghanistan and Iraq come to mind immediately), which is why militaries actually truly hate these deployments. Discipline and morale break down, most of the time the majority of the troops donāt have training that is appropriate for the situation, and awful incidents like that happen.
itās on the news, man. you think theyāre going to show that on ITV? Remember, they control the media.
Not sure I have seen anything like this before in any war
Here are a few examples:

Perhaps itās just the first war of a TikTok generation. But seems bizarre, unprofessional and symptomatic of a an army who know there are no repercussions.
I understand war fucks people up and they do dumb shit. The Iraq prisoners/photos shows deprived actions of US for an example. But could you imagine one individual in the first 3 months of a conflict, uploading mocking videos on a regular basis ? Ones which will be used as evidence of war crimes ?
Those US soilders served prison time. Doubt anything will happen to IDF soilders.
We have had the pope condemn IDF snipers shooting civilians exiting a church, we have had two soldiers shooting at hostages with a white flag. (Written off as tragic accident, with the soilders supposedly thinking it was a trick). Here there was clearly no threat and a man has been shot (executed). In isolation these things happen however in a backdrop of large civilian deaths, for me itās a symptom of unprofessionalism and a consequence of dehumanising the enemy.
I have more sympathy for those jaded by war, however in many of these videos they came across as laughing, joking having fun. Not an army that has any respect for the enemy or civilian life.
I think that is what it is. A friend I grew up with will never be the same having(as a UN peacekeeper) seen the sheer enjoyment that some of forces in the Bosnia/Croatia/Serbia conflicts took in murdering civilians, using rifle fire to herd them toward the Canadian UN positions before taking the kill shot just before they reached them. That would be on some festering hole on Tik Tok now.
I agree with your broad take - I think IDF forces are now in some kind of post-moral state, where they are so inured to what they are seeing that the way to cope with it is the absurd, participation in it.
the above videos are horrificā¦ i cant believe im watching this.
regarding the dinosaur oneā¦its not aloneā¦but at what point do you feel like karma is going to come back and bite you on the arseā¦
we can explain away the pressure of the theatre of war etc etcā¦im guessing maybe some fucked up shit always happened since war became a thingā¦ but was never sensationalised like thisā¦that dinosaur suit one for some reason hits home a bitā¦not excusing the guy in the shop, but atleast hes somewhere on the frontline and probably cracking or close to cracking pointā¦
to get dressed up in fancy dress whilst loading range bombs strikes me as more fucked upā¦
I think itās way beyond that. I have earlier posted a clip showing an Israeli military vehicle running over a body on the street. There was another clip showing an Israeli soldier spraying bullets on an injured and unarmed Palestinian. These are evidences that they are unhinged and thereās no efforts to control them.
I agree the dinosaur one is one of the most fucked up.
For me though this is one of the worst TikToks. To choregraph a joke with such destruction is
Each and every one of these cunts should be up before a tribunal.
sorry for being indulgent here, i didnt want to just edit my post ā¦i didnt quite articulate exactly what sat wrong with meā¦
No worries mate, itās just about impossible to articulate an appropriate response to such evil.
I get nervous with the idea of reacting to outrage to TikToks, because both this conflict and Ukraine have produced a truly astonishing number of deepfakes. That missing 2 seconds or so in the earlier footage of the shooting leaves a seed of doubt in my head.
That was ITV news. They arenāt going to show a shooting on mainstream news.
This peculiar video seems to be legit, but you are still right, Iād never base my judgment on tiktok or instagram videos, at least before they are confirmed by main media outlets.
I actually have some real questions about that one. Civilian-grade radio detonator of the type often used for IEDs and other single-charge blasts, while the blast in the background has at least 6 charges in a demolitions application that would normally be done by combat engineers or the like - and would use a larger military-specification detonator with some kind of ECM integrated to prevent jamming/false signals. But I have no idea what Israeli forces are issued for detonations, and who the hell knows what the ādoctrineā is for destruction of unoccupied (?) civilian buildings?
Maybe some of the news/updates today can shed some light on that. Israel is reportedly creating a one-km wide buffer-zone around/inside Gaza. It could be as much as 20% of the area of Gaza.
