Egypt to create a gated high-security area in the reception of Palestinian refugees from Gaza

Egypt is toast if this happens. They will be burdened with 2.3m brutalized and traumatized Palestinians who will present a hoard of social, economic, political, and security issues for generations to come. All the while, The Desert will Bloom.
Makes you question the leverage US and Israel have over Egypt. I’m not sure Egypt is in a strong enough financial position to accept the extra burden of the refugees. Also , the Palestinians will only be shifted from one camp to another (albeit the second one won’t have the IDF bombing the daylights out of them - theoretically atleast)
Also speaking in Munich on Saturday, German foreign minister Annalena Baerbock said that to establish a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians, there needs to be a guarantee that something like the 7 October attacks by Hamas can never happen again.

…and that’s the reason why he wouldn’t be released.
This article/letter is from 2015, but the opening lines seemed like he was addressing the present war.
The current escalation in violence did not start with the killing of two Israeli settlers, it started a long while ago and has been going on for years.
Who is that pretentious smartass lady interviewing the Palestinian PM at MSC??? Seems to have a well honed narrative; PA is unpopular and Hamas is terrorist, so screw the Palestinians. I imagine the lunatics in Israel and Palestine are gleefully watching this.
Nasser hospital in #Gaza is not functional anymore, after a weeklong siege followed by the ongoing raid.
Both yesterday and the day before, the @WHO team was not permitted to enter the hospital to assess the conditions of the patients and critical medical needs, despite…
“The world must know, and Hamas leaders must know – if by Ramadan our hostages are not home, the fighting will continue everywhere, including the Rafah area,”
OK Mr. Gantz, what happens if Hamas do release the hostages? Is Israel going to stop the Rafah offensive? Is Israel going to allow aids to go in? Is Israel going to stop bombing the hospitals and other shelters? Doubt that. You don’t have any influence over the fascists governing Israel and they have been good to their promise to raze Gaza.
Moscow is going to host a conference of Palestinian factions. This conference should have been hosted by some Arab country (Egypt, Jordan, Qatar) at the very beginning of this war. Once again the West and the Arabs left a vacuum to be filled by some obnoxious party.
