Forget the stringed instruments. I love watching Zakhir Hussain’s collaborations. I was lucky enough to see Zakhir Hussain play three sets (with different co-stars and each about 90 minutes long) in an all-night concert many years ago in Germany. The man is music personified.
Zakhir is on the far left in @Sithbare 's video for those unlucky enough not to have encountered him.
This was from around that time that I saw him.

A Bangla song from classical genre. You will not, most possibly, understand the lyrics; but will enjoy the music and beat.

BTW, how do you embed the YouTube videos???

Unless I’m wrong, wasn’t the keyboard player’s name Herbie Flowers?

Mmm. Like this one as well. Like the bluesy stuff.

Nah , The Mandolin is twice as tough to play as the ukelele at the least. I love both the sounds that come out of them , but nah…

Check out the Vishwa Mohan Bhatt video i’ve posted.

It’s not quite Slide Guitar (Although his technique reminds people of that , he’s modified the guitar quite a bit ) but it’s still masterful music and he makes it look easy…

It’s something only supremely talented people can do…make things look easy

Looked like a tiny little electric guitar in your vid above to me.

Meeting at the river is a beautiful album with Vishwa and Ry Cooder. I have my Dad to thank for introducing it to me. Big Ry fan:

LOL. At this point, I should be asking for recos from you.

Regrettably, I’ve not been so much into Indian classical music that I should have been.

Is this simone simons from epica?

Thank you so, so, much @Lowton_Red

My Grandad was stationed with the Royal Engineers in India during the war and came back home with his new love - Indian food. On the other side of the family Grandma ran a big Indian restaurant in the West End for years (before I was born). We had a lot of curries at home, never needed the curry house experience. Guess that would have been the soundtrack in the 70s though.
