Must be a slow news day.

I burst out laughing when I saw that…‘his wife threatens to sue those who say otherwise’. Say you haven’t been entirely honest about your past with your partner without saying so…

Iron Maiden announced yesterday that drummer Nico McBrain is retiring from touring with the band with immediate effect:

It sounds like it is taking too much out of him after his stroke last year.

I saw him live at the Liverpool Empire in the 1980s. Excellent gig.

I saw it last night and I read through that statement quite a few times - I still couldn’t decipher whether he’d left the band permanently. I have a hard time accepting that my heroes are getting old and battling the stuff that us, common people battle, eh… The world will be a much poorer place once the likes of them and Judas Priest hang up their boots.

I’ve been thinking about this song a lot lately. Here’s a great version, sadly Keith’s final performance: Won’t Get Fooled Again

The drummer from Steve Harris’ side project British Lion is taking over.

Nicko is getting old and metal drumming is a physical job. He’s also survived a stroke. All the best to him on his retirement

Adult concert nappy designed for £59 so you don’t have to miss show to use toilet

The Pit Diaper is a concert wear nappy made for die-hard metallers who refuse to leave the mosh pit to respond to a call of nature - no matter how much liquid they’ve downed

Liquid Death claims this is the ‘first heavy metal diaper’

A new £59 piece of concert attire means you don’t have to leave the moshpit to pee.

It’s the perpetual conundrum of gig-goers the world over, albeit not quite in the same league as stampedes or terrorist attacks. After queueing for hours, watching the support acts, then finally the band you’re there to see hits the stage, you’re suddenly hit by a call of nature. And you don’t want to give up on the great vantage point you’ve manoeuvred yourself into, so stay put with a combination of dance moves shaped by your favourite tunes and the urge to pee.

In order to combat this the logical step is to just hold off drinking all together, but therein lies the potential of being left dehydrated - especially after spending hours sweating and jostling stage-side.

Luckily Liquid Death has come up with a daring solution for concertgoers to stay hydrated without the need to leave the mosh pit.

In collaboration with Depend, Liquid Death has launched the Pit Diaper, an adult nappy designed for hardcore concertgoers who refuse to leave the pit regardless of how much they’ve drunk.

Endorsed by metalcore legend Ben Koller, the Pit Diaper contains “recycled Liquid Death,” neutralises smells, and guarantees leak-free confidence, allowing fans to continue rocking without interruption.

“The show can’t be stopped for a bathroom break,” Converge drummer Koller said in a statement via Consequence. “With the Pit Diaper, I can hydrate without missing a beat.”

The Pit Diaper, as advertised, is a cruelty-free quilted pleather accessory adorned with chains and spikes. The canned water company describes it as both a fashion statement and a piece of functional concert gear, perfectly suited to the hardcore scene.

EDIT: For those on here desperate for more information; and there will be plenty; please don’t PM me as I know nothing more than the article states - maybe @Iftikhar is your man

I mean your average moshpit is covered in beer and piss anyway…

Reminds me of a story that Ozzy Osbourne had when he was on the Friday Night Rock Show. The first time he played one of the big festivals, he made a comment about being parched to the audience and someone threw up a beer bottle. He thanked them and took a swig. It wasn’t beer.

I’ve been in or near mosh pits regularly since 1998.

Beer? Yes.
Empty beer cups? Yes
Piss? Literally never. Not once!

People who drink THAT much would never make it out of a mosh pit because they would lose all balance and dexterity!

They won’t need a nappy, they’ll need an ambulance!

I can remember Stairways in Birkenhead in the 1980s. Regularly stank, although the bogs seemed to be permanently out of order.

Why do I not remember this band? And why do I not own a harmonica and bell bottoms?
