im with @Nikola

i predominantly play sitting down. Those other shapes are uncomfortable to play with.

Very jealous. Was unable to get a ticket to Bloodstock, but the line up is packed this year.

I’m so jealous I’m actively trying to ignore @koptician, even though I’m not a fan of festival format. :joy:

I’ve never played standing up, by the way. I thought I’d buy a guitar strap only when I become satisfied with my playing but that’s not going to happen, it seems. I’m pretty pleased with LTD’s and Schecter’s LP shape but Explorer shape takes the cake for me, especially with the upper part of guitar’s back being contoured, so it doesn’t have the edge that would cut into my skin. What’s that called in English, by the way?

Well, the festival format can be a bit of a mixed bag. Say for example a band you really like is playing midday on the main stage. And they’re playing only for 45 minutes. And then there’s nothing much you like for quite some time. You have to really pick and choose if you want to go into the grounds in a time like that because typically it’s happening in the summer, it’ll be quite taxing on the body no matter how physically fit you are. And given that festivals can go for three or four days, by the last day you’ll be properly properly knackered. And when you’re physically really feeling it, no matter how much you like a band, it’s not an enjoyable experience.
Yesterday i put out wayy too much energy into Ministry (couldnt help it, they were incredibly good!) then after three other bands, during Machine Head my feet really started aching badly. Got to the barrier for Static-X which allowed me to make it through the set.

next year’s lineup is even more redonculous. @SixpenceNun get that ticket, and @Nikola that lineup contains two of your absolute favourites, one of whom JUUUST reformed after more than a decade.

I just had someone tell me, in complete seriousness, that everyone knows. Stevie Wonder isn’t actually blind. Citing all sorts of examples of him react to movement and what not.

I asked why the hell Stevie would pretend to be blind and he said because he’d made it so much of his image when he was younger and may have actually had vision problems that he was tied to the act now.

I for one enjoy living in a post fact world.

Lots of Ozzy tributes throughout Bloodstock . On Sunday there was a huge singalong of No More Tears (with lyrics on the massive screens) right before Gojira came on.
Gojira covered “Under the Sun” (Joe even wen to nearby Birmingham to get a a new Tony Iommi Gibson SG), Mastodon covered “Supernaut”, Trivium did “Symptom of the Universe”, every band I saw either specifically dedicated a song to Ozzy, or had a musical intro/interlude/outro from a famous Black Sabbath song worked into their set. A huge fan signup poster (which I’m guessing is either going to a museum or to the Osbournes) where anyone could write a small remembrance message for Ozzy was quickly filled to the brim. Managed to leave a message myself.

Mentioned ‘Guilt’ in the TV thread. It’s got an absolutely belting soundtrack, but with a special slant towards Scottish bands.
This came up in an episode last night. What an absolute banger!

Boston Tea Party was one of the first records I ever bought. Alex was a punk before punk was even a thing.
