Went to see and hear Paradise Lost last night… I’m already dreading the future in which bands like them or Type O Negative will not exist, i.e. people who write quality, heartfelt music, while not taking themselves seriously enough. Nick Holmes, their singer, even acknowledged some lad wearing Type O Negative shirt in the front row. Gestures like this one go a long way with grumpy bastard that I am…
This was the second time I saw them live, only this time it was on open stage and I didn’t want to read the set list in advance - they kicked ass, such a tightly knit and well rehearsed crew. I got the impression they hadn’t expected such a (relatively) big turnout and a crowd that knew their songs by heart! I wish more of these greats visited while they are still around and kicking ass…
The new Muse Album The Wow Signal is freakin awesome.
Vintage heaviness, epic, operatic, grandiose I’m running out of adjectives.
Can’t wait to watch them live!! Ticket booked!
Went Metallica last night at London Stadium…awesome gig.
Thunderstruck :0)
Another great episode. This is great series to listen to. Looking forward to the upcoming GTO, Zappa, Beefheart episodes
Got into Argy Bargy by Squeeze, not a band I’ve given much notice of prior to it coming on after playing “Up the Junction” which is a tune.
Had a year in college where Squeeze Singles 45 and Under was on serious rotation in the dorms. Black Coffee in Bed, Temoted by the Fruits of Ankther, Pullong Missles fro the Shell all still bring a smile to my face every time I hear them.
Just listened to the GTO episode. Fascinating, even if the music’s not my cup of tea.
I never really got into Zappa for whatever reason, but I know that episode is going to be interesting nonetheless.
Paradise Lost have a wonderful cover, you know, they surprisingly started playing it live!
Cant believe it’s 48 years since I saw them live ![]()
Saw Metallica’s no-repeat weekend. Pretty good for older guys who’ve been through the wringer. Pantera wasn’t bad either. Did wish the Tallica boys had played Battery, Damage Inc, and The Shortest Straw but I’ve seen them play those live before so not a big deal. Great crowds at London Stadium and good energy!

Leonard Cohen’s Family Announces First Official Tribute Tour — A Decade After His Passing
Ten years on, Leonard Cohen’s songs are returning to the stage in “Everybody Knows.” Sung by his son Adam Cohen and, for the first time, his grandson, “Everybody Knows” is the first official, family-produced tribute tour since the 2017 memorial celebration at Montreal’s Bell Centre, where Lana Del Rey, Feist, Damien Rice, Courtney Love and The Lumineers gathered to honor him.
Created and led by Adam Cohen, the production pairs Leonard Cohen’s most enduring songs with curated archival photography and film. The tour begins in Canada in November 2026 before continuing into Europe in early 2027. Adam will be joined onstage by his son — Leonard’s grandson — with additional special guests to be announced closer to the date. Visual design is by Moment Factory, the Montreal-based studio behind stage productions for Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Madonna.
Just started this. Good so far…
