Yes, the reason I want to see them live, they are amazing on stage, their songs are very hypnotic and upbeat. Their energy remind of The Clash and their word play reminds of Public Enemy/Eminem
They are selling out on their South American tours.

I quite like Parful. If you were willing to give Kneecap a listen. Try Fat Dog. I am in my mid 40s and yet they get me dancing round the Kitchen throwing shapes as if I was 18 again

Okay, so be easy on me. I have just given Ten a listen to. Things to note, this was whilst sending work related emails and also being tired.
So quick summary, didn’t disappoint - I actually felt a bit guilty that I hadn’t given it much time before hand.
Lyrics - can’t provide a review as I wasn’t fully engaged - as explained. Will update.
Vocals - Strong and distinctive, is it wrong to say Eddie uses his throat more to create his sound? Sorry couldn’t think of a better way of explaining it.
Sound - Very controlled Drums, Guitarist is great. Bass less profound than Nirvana’s sound. I think on a quick review their sound definitely comes across more polished and skilled.
Funnily enough, I just searched for a comparison online and I think they echo my early impression.
As stated, I am a massive Nirvana fan. So I am going to be biased. For me, the Nevermind album just demands attention. Although their Songs are similar in structure there is more variation in my opinion there is more variation in their sound. Like in Polly where he uses muted strums and slides and the haunting sound of Something in the way.
Controversial maybe, but could Kurt’s Death, like Sid Vicious, Phil Lynott, Hendrix, Ian Curtis, Amy Whitehouse, insert an other have created an enigma which gives a false, slightly exaggerated memory?
Personally I don’t think so but there maybe an element of it in the media?

You are a lot more honest in your assessment than myself.
I am still clinging onto the belief that I can throw shapes. When in reality I am probably no better than my 80+ Nan at a family wedding.

With artists who die young, there is a tendency to wonder what they would have gone on to produce. In truth, they would have reached middle age and produced some mediocre albums, which is what happens to nearly all artists.
Most of those mentioned were at the top of their game when they died (although Sid was more of a cultural icon rather than having any musical ability). Phil Lynott is probably the exception, because he had already been in a bit of a slump but appeared to be on his way back when he died. Always very much a musician’s musician as well.
The more you listen to Nevermind and Ten the more you realise they are 2 totally different bands lumped under the grunge banner. I dont think Pearl Jam were ever grunge.
We will never know of course but would be interesting to see where Nirvana went musically had Kurt lived.
Pearl Jam have something like 13 studio albums and while there’s one or two that don’t quite work (for me) the last 4 albums have been on par with the first 3 and back on form.
Listen songs like Yellow Leadbetter, Breath and State of Love & Trust (released around 92/93) etc they are nothing like what Nirvana had done and were doing (see In Utero).
We will never know but what would the follow up to In Utero sounded like?

Sid Vicious couldnt even play yet he is remembered more than the original bassist.
It’s like saying Slayer was a really good band when all Kerry king ever did was absolute gibberish.
People often have a mistaken view on nirvana , I like their albums but they were a flawed band.
I like nirvana. But AOC , soundgarden and pearl jam were easily better bands than them.
Not to mention the proto grunge/punk bands like clash / r.e.m

Controversial take: I actually never thought much of Nirvana. Always believed they were massively overrated and overhyped.

Nope was never into post punk that much.
I do still like nirvana’s breakout album but yeah. They are overrated as per me.
