While we’re at the 70’s hard rock stuff, here’s Deep Purple.
By the way, Nissan Japan latched on to this and named their more expensive versions as Highway Stars. So even though my car is a slow-coach people carrier, it’s a Highway Star. A Nissan Serena Highway Star.

No, I won’t follow this up with Paranoid. Even though that is what I’m listening to right now.

Watched this recently - as music documentaries go it has to be one of the best and most intelligent I have seen. If you are at all interested in musical history or the music/film industry in general then it is definitely worth a look. Left me with a sense of his massively unfulfilled potential and his manipulation by a money-hungry industry. Great music throughout.

This REM video was based upon an actual event. “They just got out and walked.” Love it.

Before Springsteen, before Dylan - there was Woody Guthrie.
Same as it ever was.
Some fabulous photos in this video.

Woody Guthrie is bedrock folk music. He also learned a lot from the Carter Family. Listen to his guitar licks and Maybelle’s.

How about a shout out to Woody’s son. Here is his epic Woodstock performance.

Really good biography if you are interested - very tough life and fire seems to follow him around

Yes, Tokyo can give you a headache. Although I liked this, well most of it. It is a good representation of Tokyo in a way, as it can be overwhelming.

In defiance of, and in protest of, what must be the worst song from Norway in Eurovison since the 80s; I make a humble apology for the atrocity of TIX with this offering of actual quality music from Norway:

Which is also quality ! But I wanted to show off Wardruna, since it is perhaps a more a nich’e style that fewer people have heard, but is amazingly good if you take the time to listen through it (and they make a down right magical atmosphere live !)

Wardruna have a strong following in underground circles here, I’m pretty sure they have visited and are expected to visit Belgrade again (once this crappy virus dies)!
