It’s on i-player apparently , but presumably like me here in France , you’re unable to get it in Germany ?
anger is an energy … or at least it was , once upon a time
You could be wrong, you could be right.
Vpn?
I can get reliable iPlayer using our works VPN (which is Yorkshire based). I tend not to use it for that as it is strictly meant to be a business tool.
For the most part I can use NordVPN but that can be hit and miss at times. There is also the satellite dish but that was blown out of alignment a few weeks ago and I have yet to get it fixed.
Nord fine for me. I can’t speak for freak weather conditions or acts of god.
Are there any free ones that work ?
Nord is considerably cheaper than Netflix and much better value in my opinion.
For those too young to remember it, very good documentary on Sky Arts, White Riot, about the Rock Against Racism movement.
Accidently stumbled across this song today, not my kind of music or artist, but it popped up on youtube.
This may be the most fucked up song I’ve ever heard. Including that song where the kid mistakenly rapes his own mother then kills himself.
So the story of this song is that some guy drives down the road, finds a young woman who has been beaten up, goes to the boyfriend’s house and executes him while she “waits in the truck”. Then he goes to prison and she essentially becomes his pseudo girlfriend, visiting him all the time and thanking him. Even comparing him to an angel.
The thing I find really fucked up is the reactions to it. “Best country song in years”, “so moving”, “so deep”… it’s genuinely hard to find a negative reaction to this song that to my ears is just some guy’s wet dream about how he would be a sacrificial white knight to save the damsel in distress and get the girl. It’s like porn for incels. Feel icky having just heard it tbh.
This is the guy that sings a song ‘kill shit till I die’.
I quite liked the sound so I went on Spotify and listened a bit, he’s actually written stuff that sounds much better. Still his themes are very much the same ‘I’m the victim’.
Spotify saved the day randomly playing a song by someone called Chayce Beckham ‘23’ which was better in all respects.
Discovered these last year - not really my kind of thing but fell in love with this album and this song in particular.
DJ runs off the stage after blasting herself in the face with a confetti gun!
Ya just couldn’t make this stuff up :0)
Well it’s evident they forwent the dress rehearsal so she didn’t know how to use the damn thing.
There’s also something seeping out (melting?) in the second picure, perhaps it’s not a she/her?
I was just refering to the fact she’s not dressed, in general I just take for granted that people are idiots.
I finished watching the Fight The Power documentary this morning. Fascinating stuff.
Aside from the political side of it the origins of the turntables makes sense. I’d always assumed that was an influence from Jamaican dub, but if the only device you have to create music is a record player then that’s going to define how you work.
I am currently listening to ‘Swordfishtrombones’ by Mr. Tom Waits. The whole damn album is a stone cold classic and maybe this is the standout track, but there are others that push it close, i.e. Shore Leave, Frank’s Wild Years and Town With No Cheer. Highly recommend that you all take the time to listen to this work of a true artist.
