I’ll be watching, and I’m sure I remember @Maria being a regular viewer?
We could have a watch-along thread and maybe the people who aren’t interested could just ignore instead of making sure they show up to let us know how not interested they are in it?

I think they have made some efforts to trim down the voting but it does drag on a bit. They try to make it as exclusive as possible but that does mean that everyone gets their minute to say hello and give their 12 points to the family from the next village along.
If I can, I still like to watch the BBC broadcast with Graham Norton’s commentary as he has taken over Terry Wogan’s style of witty repartee but with his own slightly catty twist on it.

I’d have watched it if John Lydon was performing

I dont like the ESC at all, but I can really recommend the film “fire saga”…its about a duo from iceland who dream to be at the ESC, I absolutely enjoyed it !
I am definitely watching it. It is a tradition in our house, even though it maybe cheesy. I even call in to vote, even though my song never wins. .
I wouldn’t mind a watch along thread!

I enjoy it, it’s a few hours away from all the negative stuff going on the world. The voting system alone is hilarious, it’s as bent as refereeing in this country.

When I was much younger it was something to watch with friends or family no matter how poor the quality of performance. I started watching it again a year or two ago to introduce my wife and daughter to the show. I think you can usually find a couple of songs that make it worthwhile now as we seem to have moved away from all songs being europop.
Dadi Freyr and ManeSkin have been class performances, and I loved the Moldovan entry last year for the energy and fun it brought when most other performers took themselves so seriously with their entries.

Love Saudade, genuinely one of my favourite albums. Not all in french though, some French songs, some Portuguese, and some English.
Quality album. Also really like the Temple of I & I
Watching an old TOTP from 1977.

I like the older stuff, found out about them in Aussie from one of the DJ at the beach bar I worked at.
Sounds and Mirror albums are an immediate flashback to camping at Byron Bay. I loved that place, such a vibe. Literally changed my life.
Babylon remix album is killer though.
That’s it I’m cleaning up my TOTPs LPs from when I was seven, listening to them and posting the covers here for you Maria. If your lucky I might say what I think of eah track now, at the time I thought it/they were fantastic.

Please do Flobs, i gave all my vinyl records away!
Was chatting to my boos the other morning, I have a bout 200 LPs on vinyl (and have noo where enough time to clean and listen to them). She has 4000 and about the same number of CDs. I’m very jealous.
I would have quite a few more if I hadn’t had so many stupid partys during my youth. Drink and vinyl just doesn’t mix well.
Many years ago my mate bought an American car that had a 7" record player built into the dashboard… First time he parked it up, he forgot to take out the record he had been playing en route. When he got back to the car and went to continue playing it again… the vinyl had melted inside the unit and ruined the whole set-up:0)
He ended up selling the car almost immediately, because he said he only bought it to help with his street cred, that, and the fact this humongous car only did three lamp posts to the gallon :0)
for those familiar with the Caribbean style of “riddims” I present you one of my favorites.
my favorite version of this riddim is Fantan Mojah’s version called “Rasta Got Soul”
