Actually you’re right. I thought for a moment that Pablo Honey might have snuck in in '89 like the Stone Roses and Primal Scream, so I didn’t mention it.

I’d class them as (late) 70s. Essentially they were on the tail end of the punk/new wave scene which overlapped but their origins were in the 1970s. I’d probably put The Police in with them.

I’m surprised that no-one has mentioned the Ska-revival: 2-Tone, Madness and so on. Maybe not defining of the decade but very influential at the start.

Yeah, but the 2 years they were still around in the 80’s was much better that a lot of the guff on show.

Good shout with the Ska thing.

Off topic but any reggae lovers in London should check out Chronixx on May29. If Koffee is opening it would be a treat. But his band is soooooo good

Ok , it’s the Wirral , not exactly Liverpool , but still.

Great band , still going , had a cracking album out last year (or the year before) , Coral Island.
