The Owners - FSG (Part 2)

Bezos more importantly might just be comfortable letting Bhatia run the show. Especially as he knows he’s made a relatively safe investment and the only angle for him is really to maximize the investment there.

Severin has made moves for club ownership before , he’s the other part. Whether he is okay to remain in the background remains to be seen. But from what I’ve read about him , he seems a good sort.

I hope not.

But let’s wait and watch.

Not going to hold my breath.

Yes maybe my art sells for billions and I become the majority owner instead

Well that’s 3 of us being over dramatic now.

Good stuff

Hopefully he doesn’t care that much about Liverpool FC and allows the tried and tested formula to work.

For Bezos getting into sports team ownership , this is absolutely a no brainer. Barcelona are incredibly leveraged and have huge debts. There’s a shadow over real Madrid finances. Man United are literally a risk heavy investment. Liverpool comes across as an investment which is incredibly risk free , no debt roll over , and a massive massive fanbase.

but i do believe bhatia will be the face of it and has agreements in place to protect himself. this this has been in play since 2025. Bhatia is the main reason this deal is happening because FSG trust him as a custodian. so there will be certain conditions in the agreement that protects him and his role. the other thing is Bezos as history has shown is a very hands off owner type.

Agreements really don’t matter much unless FSG has shares in Liverpool to protect Bhatia.

I have several bars of chocolate and an unopened bottle of olive oil in the cupboard - cash in at the current rates and my hostile takeover will be under way quicker than an Amazon driver can urinate in a bottle and leave a parcel somewhere no one in their right mind would agree constitutes a ‘safe place’

Zimbabwean dollars ?

and just by what you said you have to commend FSG there as they wanted to protect the club and not let any person buy LFC and saddle it with debt (folks dont understand how bad man united have it). so folks wanting to do it via loans and LBO’s were filtered out. the downside to that is there are very few individuals in this world who can throw 1 billion cash and not blink and bezos is one of the select few

Hey Jabu said drastic, i cant think of anymore drastic than my art being able to sell, not to say for billions.

Let’s wait and watch. I do think FSG want to do the exit the right way , but there’s still the valuation of the club.

its done @Sithbare, unless some crazy shit happens. maybe bezos has a change of heart and chooses not to follow through but like i said, the fact they are at this point, i doubt he backs out unless @gasband, @Noo_Noo and @LFCSandgrounder get involved

And all Bhatia needs to do is to say that ticket prices will be frozen for a period of 10 years. And BAM, the fans are immediately on his side.

The stadium match day revenue matters for sure. But not as much as the outside investment that can be brought into the club.

I think it’s FSG wanting to take a step back, however they’ve wanted to do this for several years so it probably demonstrates it won’t be any time soon.

I expect Bhatia will lead the club at some point

I think they’ve started taking a leaf out of the glazers book and will essentially look to hand over the running of the football operations of it to the new Consortium.

The difference is that they leave on a position of relative strength as opposed to the glazers who were essentially forced out.

All the while , I think they will still hold on to the minority stake holding for a while too.
