The Owners - FSG

Why wouldn’t he be.

100% this guy is a real pioneer! Was rumoured to be leaving with Graham, this is great news

I few tweaks and it isn’t so bad.

He’s got the perfect name for the job…

More importantly, someone already familiar with the work that we’re already doing and presents some form of continuity.

Well you can keep the Nike badge and the Liverbird crest.

Tweak the rest.

That’s worked out brilliantly with Ward.

Perhaps it’s unfair, but there is an impression that our club has become something of an echo chamber.

  1. You nerd

  2. An interesting quirk of the development of the field of statistics is that, like genetics, the pioneers of the early 20th century, like Spearman, were all driven by the need to validate their racist theories. Remember that the next time you use a Spearman ranked correlation coefficient

I’m willing to give the lad a chance, if his only response is Portugal then maybe we have made a mistake (aka Ward).

The ‘FSG out I don’t care if club being purchased with blood money’ camp very calm since City got charged

That stance is all a bit naive.

The club under FSG simply isn’t competitive enough. Certainly unless all ducks are aligned in a row.

Even on the basis there’s new minority owners, with funds for the team, good chance this will be short lived. FSG method and approach likely won’t change. At least there’s no indication it would. I’d like to see some new ambitious owners.

Not with this guy… Edwards brought in Ward and Graham after working with them before so there is a lot of history there…

Spearman yes was brought in by Edwards but he hadn’t worked with them before.

Spearman is a super super boffin, he worked at CERN, did a thesis on the higgs boson and has a phd in particle physics.

I think that doesn’t really apply in this case since it’s more the methods you want to be concerned about. The director of research shouldn’t really be that opinionated on that many things but just needs to know how to develop the right methods.

Good to see that we’re slowly but surely replacing people that need to be replaced and employing where we need new people.

I want this sorted before the start of next pre-season; new director, recruitment/analysts, medical department and whatever else we need.

These roles need to be ready for us to start a much better pre-season than last one.

Clarity on ownership would be nice too.

Don’t mistake that for welcoming financial doping, but I do think having the ownership up in the air is detrimental to everything in the club below them.

Hopefully news is being fed through the club if it’s positive even if we aren’t getting the blow by blow account.

Yes but that cannot block what happens below on a day to day basis. That is actually still our priority, the owners/new investors thing, it’s not so much in our control, when/if it happens, it happens.

Its great FSG want to give Jurgen the funding to sort the midfield out this summer but the damage is already done. We arent getting top 4 or winning the CL so weve lost a season and it could take us a while to get back to where we were.

Less of this, win our next 3 games and we are 3 points from Newcastle and a game in hand.

With the players coming back from injury such as Van Dijk, Jota etc. This isn’t impossible. Starts tonight though.

The assumption is that those inside the club have any uncertainty.

I cannot emphasise this enough, the only talk and supposition about FSG selling up completely does not come from anything but journalist speculation.

Yet everyone seems happy to assume so, and even worse, assume that the same is in the minds of the people in the club.
