The Owners - FSG

DT is in jail. Troopz? Having the time of his life right now.

They used to be the joke of the football world :grimacing:

Yeah, but look at them now. As for the gooners, Arteta survived a rough patch and did what LFC failed to do.

Taking a hit by getting immediately terminating the contracts of the players( some of whom had very big reputations) who are becoming toxic and/or couldn’t perform to standards. In addition to that, they also bought very smartly. Can FSG do that? No. Edit: Can FSG do that sort of immediate contract terminations?

Why? Because as what Klopp has mentioned, there must be known out-goings to have new incomings and he has no idea how much will FSG back him which is a manifestation of the sell -to - buy policy.

Shocked Oh No GIF by YĂȘu Lu

But the gooners also culled very ruthlessly. Nobody who cares about money will actually sanction a termination of 3 players contract, paying them off early.

Really gets me going when people start using Arsenal as the model of what we should be doing. They haven’t won anything yet, ffs, and while they’ve undoubtedly done things right to get moving in the right direction they have also been actively trying to emulate us so all this crap about them doing what we’ve failed to is pretty pathetic given we’ve won everything there is to be won and set points totals and came closer to winning everything than the Arse could ever dream of.

Fucking hell. Cry arse and revisionist is describing you mildly.

Revisionist? I will give you one example of me not being revisionist. I certainly haven’t changed my mind on Hendo after all these years that he is at most in his peak a decent player but never a key one. Always felt that Hendo is one of the luckiest man alive to have the world’s best coach coupled with the luck of having a coutinho windfall that allowed the spine of the team (that won everything) to be built.

As for the gooners, they are trying to emulate what we do but they put a real good spin to their imitation of us.

Have you ever seen this club actually paid off a player who is not contributing much on the pitch so it achieves a win-win situation for us and the player so that we can have a player registered in the squad that actually have some contributions and the player can find another club to play? Instead, we hold onto them for far too long in the hope of recouping some money back which comes back to bite our collective arses when nobody wants to take them off our hands even for a small nominal sum.

Jesus holy mother of mortifying god.

Have you been in a coma for last six years?

Apparently, you missed out the front part where I said this,
“Taking a hit by getting immediately terminating the contracts of the players( some of whom had very big reputations) who are becoming toxic and couldn’t perform to standards.”

When I said can FSG do that, I meant ruthlessly culling underperforming players regardless of their reputation.

Please see the context, Admin Mascot.

Hendo is shit

Jordan Henderson becomes integral part of English, European, and World champion side, establishes self in national side, and remains first choice midfielder at Liverpool, until at 32 and with the end of his career now in sight, his performances start to dip

See. Told you he was shit.

Are you seriously describing parts of a squad as ‘Toxic’?

PS. Please don’t use the ‘admin’ tag as a pejorative term. 99% of the time here I’m a poster like you chatting about the football.

Then I suppose signing Naby Keita and Fabinho are meant to be his back-up for the number 8 and number 6 position respectively? Then why sign both when we can just sign one?

I am truly puzzled.

So you think we should have three good midfielders for three positions and leave it at that?

Look at the body language of the team yesterday. Does that look like a team with a huge load of positivity last night?

‘Toxic’ is total hyperbole. Do you think Jurgen would stand for a player who brings a toxic attitude to the team?

Alright, I shouldn’t have used toxic in my arsenal example
But surely, the part of “couldn’t perform to required standards” still stands eh?

Stopped reading there. And also notable that your posting rate seems to be inversely proportional to our success.

I’m intrigued by this. Do you think

A) Stan Kronke told Arteta that Aubameyang was being shipped out?

Or

B) Arteta made the case for getting rid of Aubameyang and the board signed off on it?

And do we really think spending ÂŁ7m to get rid of a player who was then sold by his new club just 6 months later for ÂŁ10m is something to be lauded?

If anything we’ve seen Klopp push to give new long term contracts to players against the advice of the people FSG have put in place to help make the best decisions on these matters.
