The Owners - FSG

Interesting. If they were willing to sell to acquire the Celtics, there’s still a sense in which they are willing to sell. I wonder when we will be welcoming our new Qatari overlords?

For the avoidance of doubt, very much a tongue in cheek quip. I do not want sports washing owners!

We came really close on this occasion :face_with_spiral_eyes:

However, Moores increasingly sought external investment to help the club develop a new ground, and ended up selling it in 2007, to American investors Tom Hicks and George Gillett, in preference to Sheikh Mohammed and DIC .

As someone who was naïvely in favour of it back then, thank goodness it didn’t happen.

Malaga were one of the first Gulf Sports washing projects, but the guy in charge seemed to lose interest in funding that for more than a couple of years and for the last few years has seemingly been willing to let them just rot on the vine.

It’s probably the tale of some to be honest.

Every fan base wants to clamber for one it seems but not all will end up being beneficial and you will get a lot of unsuitable owners both in morals and in general.

Lets hope Edward’s can sort it, if thats what the club owners want.

Last week they were selling Liverpool so they could potentially buy the Boston Celts.

Why do I think they know jack all?

A lot of “journalism” these days is a farce. It’s just making up any old crap to generate clicks, and operating on the principle that even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Absolutely pathetic.

And the sad thing it’s spread across the entire stream of journalism.

And yet people here will fall over backwards to believe any old crap posted on here, and defend “journalists”.
