Bayern surprise me. How on earth do they get a higher revenue than LFC? I always thought that there is much less money in the BL than in the PL?
(Edit: they seem to be very good in their commercial deals. Still surprising for me, but shows that we have potential to become stronger in that regard, as most clubs in the top eight of this list topple us, in part significantly.)
The fundamental problem with the Bundesliga is that there have been seasons where Bayernās commercial revenue exceeds that of all other teams combined. It has been a while, Dortmund and Stuttgart have done very well in the past 6-7 years closing that gap, but the fact that the BL has no other teams in the Top 10 is telling. Ligue 1 is worse these days, obviously - however that is not really the comparator that German football would aspire to.
For purposes of the Money League report, transfer revenues are excluded.
This season is rapidly becoming a very challenging one for the owners. The club seems to be in a right mess to be honest⦠the lack of performance on the pitch might rapidly have catastrophic consequences for the clubās performance off the pitch as well.
just dont know though, maybe they thought they were in a position to strengthen through the centre, then come back to the wings this summer.
either way, i still dont think its as simple as Hughes just fucking it all up.
as with Slot, there are nuancesā¦im not a āSlot outā person simple becuase we arent winning games, ive arrived at this position because of the way we are going about everything and the football we are playingā¦
for me, Hughes gets another 1/2 transfer windows before it becomes a bit clearer about what we are trying to do. (editā¦that means 1 to 2 windows, not half a window)
my initial reactions on Hughes based on who he brought at Bournemouthā¦
i mean he paid alot of Bournemouth money to LFC for some standard playersā¦
i was never all wrapped up in his dealings but it felt like they overspent in his time there, he was also just a bournemouth person wasnt he? working his way through the club from his playing days?
i always thought he would go as big here as his leash would let himā¦
he can still make great things happen here, but there are legitimate questions now being asked.
On their own merit each of the signing has been good. The problem is the holes left behind.
If this was always seen and understood to be more than a one year rebuild, then he is doing OK. The squad is thin and Slot (IMO) has been left without the options he needs to mount a challenge, but if everyone is onboard with that, then both Hughes and Slot will be given time to complete the job.
with the risk of going over this ground againā¦the squads not perfect, but its not as thin as you want people to believeā¦but even thenā¦i dont think even you are trying to say this squad is maximising its potential.
its a good squadā¦cracking footballersā¦just becuase he cant reach into his back pocket for a superstar doesnt automatically mean we shouldnt be doing a hell of a lot betterā¦
i meanā¦Divock fucking Origi used to score winning goals for us!!!
