Yup isn’t that from next year, I do wonder how Chelsea will manage all that.
But frankly I couldn’t care.

Let us write to them. Yeah UEFA, FIFA, etc. are utter scums and FIFPro isn’t doing anything. But maybe we can do our bit.
They do this with rugby. I think it’s 30 or 32 games a season with a game counting as anything over 20 minute involvement.
They also operate a salary cap at club level so you get this odd dynamic of the better your players the more you pay them but the more likelihood more of their games will be taken up by internationals. So the better your team, the bigger the squad you need but those additional guys need to come cheap.
It’s another one of those rules where once again, the richest clubs would be best placed to cope.
The problem isn’t domestic football. All the additional games are of UEFA and FIFA’s doing and those pricks only care about filling their own coffers. Hence the Super League move.
It’s not easy to compare rugby to football though. Rugby was late turning proffessional, which from memory they only did in the mid 90’s so it was easy for them to bring in things like salary caps, agreements on limiting how many games a player can play ect.
Football has been allowed to be a free-for-all for so long that it will be almost impossible to try and bring in any meaningful reform, unless the players lead it but that won’t happen because they know they are on a damn good wicket
Wasn’t sure where to post this. I’m sure others have read Christian Eriksen will have a defibrillator implanted in his body to ward off any recurring heart arrhythmias. Not that it matters in the slightest, but it would look like his football career is over. However, reading this article I learned Daley Blind has an ICD in his chest and is still playing. I guess I recall reading he had myocarditis. Probably, Eriksen’s situation is a bit more serious, as he suffered total cardiac arrest. Anyway, these defibrillators are lifesavers and hopefully he goes on to lead a full and long life.
My favourite goalie gets back to the sources. Good luck to him!
Funnily enough, I was just looking at Carragher’s England U21 career and it made me smile to see that he made his debut alongside my cousin in 1997 against Italy. In the Italy team that day? Buffon
[Totti and Buffon played in the reverse fixture in Italy in which Carragher and my cousin played alongside each other again. We won both games 1-0]
Will be 45 when his contract ends.
Nice from Tite, I’ve watched almost all videos from this channel and the way he explains things is arguably the best so far.

The end of the transfermarket as we know it?
For lower league clubs maybe, doubt the big clubs will.
Agreed. Good players don’t need tinder. This works well for lesser players uncertain of what level of interest there is in them.
Umm…can’t see how this isn’t in breach of FIFA regs. I note that they don’t address this on their site.
Alexa, what is sportwashing?
One of the reasons I’m enjoying the Euro’s is because I’m having absolutely nothing to do with this blood drenched World Cup.
Can we talk about penalties (but not make this about England)
Goalkeepers
Saving a pen was difficult before but now with having one foot on the line it’s even harder.
Takers
Those who are trying to do the Simone Zaza or this start stop shit or whatever. Wtf is that? Don’t think it gives them an advantage but even more it ‘distracts’ the taker from hitting the ball perfect.
I mean we all are watching football. Does anyone really have the feeling the new style has a better conversion rate than taking it traditionally?
Stumbled upon this thread last night which was an interesting read. Think the guy also linked a few more studies on his profile.
Don’t know if anyone has heard much about it, but there is a potentially really interesting situation brewing in Mexico over FIFA’s stance on discrimination. Like in most countries there is a long tradition in Mexico of yelling abuse at the opposition keeper when taking a goal kick. The issue is that in Mexico the traditional chant is a gay slur. There have been attempts to stamp this out in recent years, but they keep doing it resulting in the Mexican team being officially sanctioned. There is now a real concern that it has reached a point where the only possible additional sanction would be expulsion from the world cup.
Despite this threat of these further serious sanctions, the fans seem to be doubling down. Their justifications are BS. “Oh, it’s just tradition”. “In this context it isn’t meant as an anti gay slur, it’s just meant to insult the goalie into putting him off.” etc. But they do actually make one really good point that puts FIFA in a bind. How do you threaten us with sanctions for simply saying something that offends gay people, yet you give a world cup to countries where they criminalize gay people. Honestly, that would seem like a check mate and leave FIFA with their hands bound, but I wouldnt be surprised if they are completely immune to the calls of hypocrisy should they turn around a ban a country for making gay slurs from a world cup in a country where youre not allowed to be gay.
It’s Euro-centric FIFA refusing to acknowledge context, especially if the context happens to be South American Spanish.
