In fairness though even if I hadn’t got distracted I reckon around 10 I would not have got due to not being able to spell anda couple that I still have no clue who they are - even after seeing the answers

Might have got them if I hadn’t spent half the time trying to spell Midgetland.
I missed Bordeaux and Boavista! I genuinely couldn’t remember playing either.
I’m sure we played Boavista the day of the twin tower attacks, Owen scored a curler into the top corner (or that might have been the other game). I’ve also been to a Boavista home game so I wasn’t forgetting that one!
Debrecen was on the tip of my tongue but I couldn’t get it in time. I’d have probably got Bordeux eventually just by guessing but I can’t remember that either.
Edit - just googled it. We played them under Rodgers and Rafa. Did Lallana score that nice goal away from home against them with the nutmeg? I remember that, but nothing else.

Got all of them.
Boavista was the first group phase of 01/02, so basically our first “CL” season. Elpidio Silva I think scored in both games. If I remember well, Murphy scored a peach of a free kick. Loved that European shirt as well, it was the same in 02/03.
We had Bordeaux in 06/07, Kuyt combining with Stevie to score at Anfield, which is interesting because Gerrard comined with Kuyt to score almost an identical goal against City at home in the league, exactly around that time. They had another similar goal against PSV in that same season. I have a theory that Rafa liked that little connection and perhaps that was the reason he went for that slightly weird selection in Athens!
Crouch scored a header from a corner in France, always remember our away games in France being without the Carlsberg logo.
We had them under Rodgers and Klopp. Rodgers’ was one of his last games under him and under Klopp I think we had to win at Anfield to qualify from the group. Think we were losing when Millie scored from the pen and Benteke scored.
