Everyone who played for Swansea U14s in my age had a proper Souness moustache. They were surprisingly not good so I think that must have been how the scouts picked the players.

Quality player, Davids. Underrated also maybe, sometimes forgotten how good he was. A rare combination of very high work rate, but fantastic ability also. Plus the physicality of him, agility, speed of execution.

Wild how little productivity there is in that list. It’s not even a question of value for money…several of those have just simply not been good and wouldnt have provided value at half the cost

That’s the English for you, mostly overrated, overhyped & most certainly overpriced.
No coincidence that the only anomaly there (the guy signed by a non English club) will be the 1 that actually goes on to live up to those standards.
