I agree we should say nothing at this point. That will more than likely happen given our club’s history of appeasement and turning the other cheek.
There will come a point where they need to stand up for themselves. If that alleged statement by Coote is true (I haven’t seen it myself) where he says Liverpool wont win the title then LFC need to lawyer up and stop at nothing to uncover what the implications were/are.

Yeah, the context would be telling. Fwiw, I think it would be the latter, I don’t see why anyone would film Coote as he discusses the merits of the sides involved in the title race, their strengths and weaknesses etc. I base that on the fact he’s clearly a fucking simpleton.

Or, they’re in a hostess bar. The women work there and are not prostitutes. That’s very common in this part of Asia.
More fool them, though, for going to such a place and no doubt getting ripped off.

the hostess/call girl bar thing is a ‘who cares’ from me…what they do in thier own time is up to them, if coote wants to pay (or not pay) for sex on his holiday i couldnt give a flying…
not a great look, but ultimately it doesnt mean he was or wasnt impartial… better to remain on point…

I agree in principle, but if they are married it could leave them open to blackmail.
That’s assuming that these women aren’t just a group of local football fans keen to discuss the offside rules or how early to produce the first yellow card.
The presumption that they’re sex workers is pretty distasteful though.
The whole story is quite depressing in a number of ways to be honest.

The problem with it is professionalism, and it being an old boys club.
It’s a fair assumption given it was reported that the location is known for sex tourism, and the bar is located in the red light district.
The other photos from that night was very friendly…(sitting on laps, holding each other etc)…all married men.
It’s important for refs to be seen with integrity. Like I said above with the article defending Coote as being only human. It painted them acting more like the lads out of the inbetweeners.

To be fair I don’t think it’s to do with them being Asian. If this happened in the red light distract on Amsterdam, Hamburg or Tijuana. 6 middle aged refs with women half their age, I think it would natural assumption. That’s not judging the women. It’s judging the men.

Not at all. Like I said, I’m sure a bunch of very well paid football referees rocked up in an Indonesian red light distinct, and just happened to bump into a group of horny young women half their age who had a thing for middle aged men.

It really feels like we have smashed all the way through the looking glass, swept up the shards and pissed on them.
Is this the new world we are living in post-trump? Let’s set aside the fact that they are referees with influence over a multi-billion dollar industry. Let’s forget the capacity for blackmail and compromat.
Any middle aged man hooking up with a young woman for an evening of enjoyment, whether they are paying for it or they have been supplied by some other benefactor, should be aware that they are basically having sex with someone against their will. Invariably a prostitute is going to have some violent controlling man behind the scenes. There is a pretty good chance they are trafficked.
It’s really depressing that men engaging prostitutes on holiday is seen as a bit of harmless laddish fun, rather than participating in a miserable, grim culture of violence and exploitation.
