The Room 101 thread

Early to bed, early to rise: makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise.

Don’t know who that man is, but it certainly ain’t me. :man_shrugging:

Makes a person grumpy and irritable, but it doesn’t rhyme as well.

People going on about Arne going to Wetherspoon’s.

Why? How is that funny? When will it ever end?

I could say that about all the things you get annoyed about.

I get annoyed by pretty much everything, but I accept that it’s part of the process.

If you want to enjoy TAN, you have to put up with things with which you may not personally agree… like me with X.

If you don’t like it, go to another forum.

Of course, but I’m still allowed to moan about it, that’s the whole point of this thread.
You can moan about the UK government, doesn’t mean you have to move abroad.

Where do you live again?

Isn’t that the whole point of this thread?

You won’t get anything you put in here banned.

Dom’s wife for instance :joy:

It’s really not funny…
But it has become a staple of every discussion on the manager.

Added to inane food discussion, the “wheres the xxxx money John”…

I really enjoy proper humour.
This shite is boring.
Its annoying as fuck too, when you see ten or twelve new posts on a topic and discover the same inane drivel.

Humour, like so many things in life, is subjective.

What you call “proper” humour would no doubt be completely unfunny to millions of people.

Again: these jokes are part of TAN’s culture.

Why?
Because they are trod out by a small handful of posters ad nauseum? How does that make the “jokes” part of the forums culture???

I understand the subjectivity of humour. To the the repetition of a joke that was once mildly funny (ie…Arne and Wetherspoons) is not humour.

To each their own, obviously.

But seeing as this is Room 101, I would like to consign the Wetherspoon’s, Korma and wheres the money “jokes” to oblivion.

This thread was based on the Room 101 Radio/TV show which was meant to be things that we wanted banished from existence.

What we actually need is an equivalent to Grumpy Old Men, which was a forum for people of a certain age to gripe, aimlessly about stuff.

Should we start a Grumpy Old Reds thread?
