Chelsea may still need the points and that game is in mid week so not sure why they would rest players for that with one eye on a CL final nearly 10 days away, more chance get that won and get CL confirmed before resting on the weekend.
Spurs I agree though I expect they would fight more than Man Utd which seems now cast iron they will play Man Utd reserves.
Saying all that they’ve just gone down to Newcastle 4-2
Well that’s that for the CL hopes. Let’s be fair, tonight was a farce but over the season we dropped lots of points to shit teams and often late on in games.
Europa League is reduced number of teams compared to previous seasons so not quite as arduous but fuck me do we need to avoid whatever the Europa Conference is.
Definite dodgy goings on with Man Utd team selection against Leicester, but had we done our job, even with the adverse circumstances of this season, what Man Utd do or don’t do would be irrelevant.
I still feel this is within our grasp.
It’s likely going to need four wins now, and Leicester to drop three points too, which should see us beat them on goal difference.
Top 4 gone now… Only ourselves to blame. Dropped a lot of points to relegation level teams. And our world class front 3 was very ordinary. Even our top scorer Salah missed so many chances. I thought he was blindfolded while shooting.
The team as constructed has run its course. And some big changes needed.
Falling out of top 4 after winning the league and now fighting just to stay in Europa league places is embarrassing.
Another post for the changing room wall Thursday night. Remember Istanbul was impossible? Barcelona? Not a frucking prayer. Leicester or Chelsea can still throw it away.
Honestly it’s still completely within Leicester’s ability to shit the bed from here. Lose to Chelsea next up and they’ll still have it all to play for on the final day. Shit, if we win all 4 it could be out of their hands under those circumstances.
Win 1 game that’s all. Then do it again and again and again.
Correct me if I am wrong, but we can add 6 points before Leicester plays again. Could make them real nervous seeing us 3 points off with 2 games to play.
Let’s just do our job and see if we can win our 4 games. If we can then that makes things very interesting.
Whilst we are at it we can pray to Fowler that Arsenal get something. If they do then it’s in our hands because both Chelsea and Leicester wouldn’t both be able to finish on more than 69 points (as we can finish on).
Probably is going to come down to our own results anyway. They haven’t been good enough over the season can they be good enough over the last stretch of games?
