About the (lack of) bridge in Kerch.
As many probably are quite aware, but maybe not everyone, Russia is evacuating Kherson city now.
Media silence around Kherson from Ukraine has lasted many days now. This speaks of a large offensive move. Do not be surprised if there are big movements in 2-5 days.
Money well spent by RussiaâŠ
In your opinion why has it been quiet? Is this to assess their strategy, having moved so quick recently or swapping out Soldiers?
I think itâs positioning, reinforcements and supplies being moved and troops getting ready. Also rotation of troops. And there is a media blackout, nothing, or almost nothing, gets out from Kherson due to OP-Sec. That likely means a large scale offensive is coming which fits with Russian evacuations.

As reprehensible as that statement is , it stll probably wouldnât change much. Republicans have a protocol whereby a majority of the majority is required to enact new policy. Presumably itâs still the case.
Youâre assuming that they would back Ukraine.
Iâm guessing , even in these upside-down times , that a majority of House Republicans would still broadly support the President in the war against Russia. In any case , bi-partisan support would all but guarantee it.
Youâd be guessing wrong. McCarthy isnât just mouthing off on his own. Look at the Fox News coverage, youâd see where most Republicans are.
Theyâre just short of fellating Putin at this point.
McCarthy (for obvious reasons) is giving voice to the cultists on the right , but he doesnât speak for everybody. It would take just about every House Republican to thwart the Presidentâs will. I donât see that happening.
Youâre more optimistic than I am.
Letâs not forget how much in lockstep most elected Republicans are now, especially since any deviation would result in getting primaried or loss of their seats regardless.
