So they’re making their way to Calais then?
bullshit apparently, not sure how reliable this web site is though…
sounds like an excuse to link up Russia to Kaliningrad.
What about that much talked-about counteroffensive? Soon enough, fall will come, and the lines will be frozen again for a while because of the rain and the mud. How much time left, four weeks maybe? Time is running out for the Ukrainians I’m afraid… or do I see this too negatively?
I think everyone’s on tenterhooks at the moment. A glimmer of optimism might come from reports of the Ukrainians crossing the Dnipro river at Kherson. Could this signal a much bigger push ?
think at the end of the day, we’re looking at a case of Mohammed vs The Mountain.
Russia is entrenched across the Zaporizhzhia region, multiple lines of defence they spent the last 12 months building. UA forces have to prod and probe to find a weakness, while they try and weaken their logistics systems to create an advantage. all of the bridge and fuel depot bombings are setting the stage for a push. I’d suspect that UA will try to cut a swath right down from the Zaporizhzhia to Berdyansk if they can, and isolate anything south of it (if they can cut off the supply from mainland via Kerch. be a tall order though, to have one group hold that line from the Russian side whilst they push south towards Kherson and Crimea.
this somewhat touches on it, where the lines of defense are and what they’re trying to do
Swiss media reporting today that Russian troops are advancing fast now in the North-East. 37 towns have been evacuated by the Ukrainians.
I couldn’t find anything about that in English media, but didn’t search very long for it though.
Just positioning and careful measures. But Poland the Baltic states worry that Wagner could be used for provocations I think.
Also, sorry for rather late answer. I know it was not very exciting or revolutionary either
i seen Zelensky fired 30 conscription officials yesterday for taking back handers. my cousin lives in berlin and said that there are loads of young ukrainian men there who’ve paid bribes to get out before they get called up to the frontline. i said this a colleague at work a few weeks ago and was accused of peddling russian propaganda.
It is true. But many do also get actual (the English word right now escapes me, doesn’t happen very often, but happened now) valid papers too and I am sure many Ukrainian males automatically have supicion cast on them even though there are reasons for why they were allowed to both flee and not serve.
But yes, it is a big, big problem with military commisars taking bribes. Hopefully that changes, because it is awful for morale of frontline troops. They are almost all conscripted and it is a killer for morale when so many can escape conscription while the honest onese must possible die or get mauled at the front.
Depressing account of a Russian journalist having investigated in Ukraine for Novaya Gazeta, then Meduza before being poisoned in Berlin.
Yeah, a truly chilling tale. Cheers for sharing.
Russian lancet drones are effective and unfortunately no answer exists as of now, a thread.
UA have liberated Robotyne after months of heavy fighting:

Ukraine has not officially confirmed, but everything points to this.
Also, big news yesterday about Dutch and Danish F-16, training and all of that, but I guess everyone knows this already.
But some minor info:

As we can see from this satelite photo, heavy shelling on Novoprokopivka south of Robotyne.
Likely control man (which doesn’t mean that it is 100 percent correct, RU has elastic defense and tends to push back, sometimes with success).
Map of fortifications and more
Same map from above, but without contact lines:
Those are the only ones we had🥺
The amount of pollution, money and so on this war is costing is staggering.
