Some extra detail on what’s generally percieved by watching France 24 would be good. So yes.
I’ve missed your informative posts.
(I’ve missed a lot the last 8 months due to health and not knowing what to do with myself)
I hope your recuperation is going ok, mate. Wish you the best!
Sorry mate, but it’s too late. Sanders is a brilliant spirit (and yes, how it would have been good if he had been elected), but he’s old now, and very much in an uphill battle against a sea of uneducated, racist people who support Trump’s policies. Some might indeed regret their vote in time when they realize that they were conned, but the wolf is in the fold now, and is about to destroy a lot of crucial democratic mechanisms in your country.
I might be too pessimistic, but I don’t think that you come back from this. It will get a lot worse.
Wont happen, not if Brexit is anything to go by. People these days haven’t got the balls to admit they made a mistake. They’ll twist themselves in knots trying to argue it was someone elses fault.
The most significant military development the last month. In short, because my backlog is too vast:
-
Russian attacks are assaults are sustained.
-
The destruction of Russian mechanisation has become so significant that most assaults are made with mopeds, ATVs and private unarmored cars. This does not mean that they don’t have significant material left, but they don’t care much about losses and their priority is to build a very large army in the rear. This has been going on now for a couple of months as some of you may know (there have been several intel reports in the last few months that Russia is building a large army in the rear, larger than they need for Ukraine according to some high ranking western officers, but the latter is speculation for now, but they are indeed running low on vehicles at the front). Meanwhile, their front units are so low on IFVs and even cars, that they have started to use donkeys and horses. Perfectly normal according to Russian High Command (I cite Russian High Command there). A camel has also been sighted in a video.
-
Ukrainian targeted industrial bombing of RU Oil Refineries continues, almost daily.
-
Russian bombardment of all Ukrainian infrastructure continues daily.

Most Russian attacks are infantry attacks. Platoon sized, often fire teams of 10 guys X 4. These are often what we in the West would call Recce in Force. RU exhaust thousands of men in this way, probing. If they find weakness, they send a much larger force.
A typical example from FEB 16:

These kind of Storm attacks, with mopeds and motorcycles, are very common these days:

In Kursk, on FEB 16 (same day as the Pokrovst video above, this is from the daay of 255 assaults, which I mentioned above). A large force of several companies of North Koreans stormed Nikolske in Kursk (in the Grey Zone in Kursk, located here:
They took it and established positions. But, and here is a major but ! They retreated (unfortunately in good order, it was reported), because they could only take positions there if the supporting even larger mechanised Russian assault was successful. And it certainly was not ! This was the biggest battle so far in february and it ended with a very humiliating defeat for the Russian 155 Naval Brigade (mostly famous for kamikaze attacks and for murdering countless Ukrainians POWs, usually in grotesque ways).
You can see Nikolske here zoomed out (the moor)
Here is a video from that fateful day. Confident in victory, you’ll note that their mechanised units are carrying the Soviet Flag of Victory:

Reports from RU Telegram:
“Right now it’s just a complete mess near Nikolskoye. The 155th column, fucking hell, under red flags, like at a parade, went head-on into a swarm of Ukrainian drones along a mined road!!! Don’t rub your eyes, we wrote everything correctly - precisely under the red flags of Victory and precisely along a mined road. Details will come later. We pray for the guys who are now in the fields!” “Gudkov, Tatarchenko, Solodchuk - you are complete scum! (Russian commanders). These are not planning errors - this is betrayal and murder!” https://t.me/sumygo/102255
More from the same battle, involving different units:

Russian Voentorg mil reporters:
(Ignore the word “attack aircraft”, obviously wrongly translated from Russian. A craft can be a many things).
More happy Russian military Telegram channels chiming in:
The point is, Russia has enormous problems. If Ukraine was fully equipped and not with hands tied behind it’s back with numerous firing restrictions, Russia would stand little chance, as their losses would sky rocket.

Sieversk front, february 11 (so even earlier). Posting this just to show case a typical infantry attack

A good use of French hammer glide bombs (Feb 10)

And this is a video from Pokrovst (one of the most important and one of the main vectors of attack in eastern Ukraine) that I would wish everyone of you watched from Start to Finish. Because this is what it looks like, from a Russian perspective. Tell me then that Ukriane cannot win if adequately supported.

Please watch. This video is hardly abnormal. I have posted many like this one in the past.
Currently, RU forward units are 3 kilometers from Pokrovst.
I don’t think it is necessary to post much more from the previous month. As stated. Extremely high RU losses. Little Ukriainian territory lost. Failure of Russian Kursk group to dislodge Ukrainian occupiers. Lack of mechanisation in Russian front line units. Use of donkeys etc. Mopeds, atv’s and private vehicles common.
Ukrainian units struggling with lack of ammuition. Also struggling with morale lately (very understandable, they don’t live in a vacuum and think we have betrayed them to Uncle Axe Murderer). They have a shit life, those heroes.
Continued massive Russian bombardment daily, continued Ukrainian bombing with drones of refineries. Massive casualties on both side, significantly higher on the Russian side.
Right now:

Any questions as to the events of the previous month, or should we just move on ?
I have met the post limit anyway.
Cheers M
Yes, as stated previously. This is such a common sight now:

Is this a “Poland is Russia” moment you think? Since Trump has effectively disbanded NATO.
EDIT: Teaches me to reply without looking at other threads. Given what you posted in the US Politics thread, it feels very much like a sinister deal to hand Eastern Europe over to Russia.
Do they still have firing restrictions? I thought that they were lifted some time ago, when they were allowed to hit Russian soil?
(Cheers for your updates btw. As always very much appreciated.)
American media coverage of the US Government’s position is just bizarre, characterizing the past two days as some radical turn and collapse in relations. Ukraine was presented with an ultimatum over a week ago, there isn’t some radical shift - the only thing that has changed is that Ukraine has declined to accept the American demand, and has said so. Trump is no more hostile to Ukraine now than he has been all along.
