Are they picking their targets by potential Scrabble scores?
Unfortunately, there is likely to be a few Russian civilian workers dead in this strike.

But it’s risky to work in vital industry connected to the war machine, since it is a military target, after all.

By the way, it is Equipment Failure, so Ukraine is certainly not to blame politically for this. Seems odd that one of the worlds biggest plants that produce 35% of a certain product globally, just completely annihilates itself due to equipment failure, but I suppose that is possible too.
Wach the Noel video. That is quite the scene…
I just looked it up to see what it is used for.
Natural rubber and synthetic polyisoprene are used primarily for tires. Other applications include latex products, footwear, belting, hoses, and condoms.
I’m assuming that the tyre production could be the biggest hit globally. I’m not sure what the natural to synthetic split is.
Yeah, seems like a massive enterprise
“employs over 17,000 people” (!)
I am honestly not well read in the chemical world, but google AI gives these hits that people can go further and read up on, if they want (the links)
And
My brother is a polymer physicist at the National Physical Laboratory in Greenwich, so he will probably be aware of it. I’ll ask him about it ar the weekend (although I have sod all chance of pronouncing that name)

This is after the loss the SU-34 from earlier today.
Any indication whether that was because of action, or it just gave up the ghost. The “accidents and incidents” section on the Wikipedia page is comprehensive to say the least.
