You are very welcome:

Ps. I am genuinly curious as to what will happen on the 23d. The Russians are scared, confused if it means tonight or tomorrow night and also what the heralded operation will be. Most people suspects Krim. Many suspect the bridge, as Ukraine mocked them while bombing everything around the bridge but the bridge and warned Russians to get out of Krim before it becomes an island.

But it could be something else. But it will be something that carres symbolic weight.

If I am honest, I am a bit worried about this. It would be an extraordinary ballsy move and I am not sure I like it. Those towers do direct Russian drones, so Russia can attack western Ukraine, but it’s still escalatory and I am slightly worried about unforseen consequences. Belarus will not go to war directly over this due to their extreme weakness, but still.

We shall see. Kyiev has lost all patience with Lukashenko’s regime and feels it is now in a position where it can act in self defence.

It’s always, always London they insist on nuking first
In Russian imperial revanchist myth, Great Britain is the arch enemy.

I have always found it disturbing that most Brits are totally unaware, but that is besides the point.

Russia always threatens to nuke the UK. They have many, many more nukes, but if they do nuke say London, they will get plenty back, and that will be that. Goodbye Moscow. Goodbye civilization, as it would be impossible to stop the spread.

They know it. It would be MAD.

I mean, I would have thought maximising daylight would be a factor.

Igor, while I appreciate your blunt honourable old school fascist honesty; why are you doing this to yourself ?
Thank you anyway.

if Ukraine does attack the border retranslators within Belarus,

would this drag the Belarus army into Russia’s ‘Special Operation’?

Very doubtful. Belarus is not prepared for that and it’s people (and army) really, really don’t want to join in the actual shooting war. But it’s risky in other ways (politically), I admit. I am not sure I really like it, even though it is legitimate self defence and those towers are incredibly important to demolish. It depends on how it is done and more. I am more worried about the potential political fallout.

I don’t want to say anything categorical really.

TBH, i did find it risky that Zelensky made the threat,

the last thing Ukraine needs is a 2nd front opening where Belarus could attack the Western side of Ukraine from the North

but i understand why he made the comment.

About that, nobody really knows, but apparently some people believe there is real ground for worry:

They don’t really have a decent way to invade Ukraine though. The border is so heavily mined.
