I asked you to clarify what you meant for a reason, because it sounded to me like you wanted to take credit on the UKs behalf of Ukraine’s accomplishments, for targeting (which is false) and more. Your clarification made it seem like it was indeed the case.

Anyway, I am not really interested in talk where NATO states takes credit for anything at all, considering how little we help Ukraine operationally. But I mean, of course we help them. But who cares who “leads” the centre in Poland. I don’t know what nationality that officer has and I don’t care. Germany is the European country aiding Ukraine the most anyway. None of this matters. UK and most of EU aids Ukraine too little as it is. Ukraine does all the fighting, and the long range bombing campaign is certainly all Ukraine, no allies involved.
In regards to Ukraine, few have anything to be proud of except those who have served or serves, as volunteers.
Thank you, in essence that is what I was asking you, and somewhere the lines got crossed. I dont think for one minute Ukr are being led by UK or Germany, but it probity is as it is them, indirect special assistance.

No I was not implying anyone taking credit or usurping what has been an awful time for Ukraine. I am just trying to gauge where it will might next go in terms of the wider geopolitical problems, Iran etc. Cheers anyway

I don’t know most of the details, apart from the videos and the information we sometimes get from the centre in Poland. US is providing intelligence, just less than before.

Incidentally, I filled up with petrol on Sunday in Liverpool. It was the equivalent of €1.80. Not cheap, but around 15% less than drivers in Germany are paying now, even with the reduction in fuel tax.
@Magnus I keep watching things on YouTube which indicate that the war is turning. That due to drones the pendulum has swung in Ukraines favour and they are building a momentum that could even see them tske back Crimea. What’s your take ?

Thanks for the link. The DeepStateMap.Live thing is interesting (I’m not sure if this is a source that @Magnus uses) but it is an approach that public service broadcasting is supposed to adopt, but often doesn’t.
Just as an example, when I was over in Liverpool last weekend, I saw a news report on both the BBC and ITV news regarding a Ukrainian drone hitting a Russian apartment block, resulting in some civilian deaths. I am not doubting that this happened, but the report was simply a regurgitation of a Russian propaganda report (which they described as “Russian reports”).
There was no background given to this, which was essentially that hundreds of Ukrainian drones were launched at Russian military and industrial targets. This is essential, because it gave the impression that the building had been specifically targeted, whereas in reality it was probably as a result of the Russians shooting down a drone that was aimed at a legitimate target.
Unfortunately, public service broadcasters have had their news reporting heavily stripped back, and often they simply run with statements from official communications channels passed off as fact without comment or background. I was particularly shocked at how bad the BBC’s output was given that it was once the gold standard in factual reporting.
I’m not sure what the best way forward is, but I think the EU could have some input and directly fund independent news output in multiple languages. As it is a multi-governmental organisation, the output wouldn’t be tied to the political interests of individual governments, and frankly they would hate that, so I couldn’t see it getting off the ground. However, as a counter to misinformation, it could be valuable as it would be trusted.

But the recent revoluation in Mid-Range strike capacity has made this road artery now closed to civilian trafic and and Ukrainian drones with AI targeting has been hammering those roads latetly, disrupting Russian operations.
And yes, the attrition rate is now so high that Russia is no longer growing its forces, creating gaps in capability and more.
But Russia is also advancing elsewhere and Ukraine does not have the manpower to counter attack on large scale.
But yes, the industrial bombing is having a remarkable effect and I am more ambivalent about the status of the war now, where as I was extremely alarmed 8 months ago.

Late last night a Russian drone hit a block of flats in Galati, a Romanian city near the frontier with Ukraine. Russian drones have been infiltrating Romanian airspace since the start of the war, it was only a matter of time before this happened. Thankfully, there were only two relatively minor injuries.

Status: War is terrible, but now also terrible for Russia and it’s getting a lot worse for them day by day (hehe). Situation ? Ru advances some places slightly, withdrawing elsewhere as logistics have become a hilarious nigthmare for them (like, 500 Russian trucks in the rear destroyed in 2 days as an example). Ru literally has ammo shortage and petrol shortage on the front (petrol, they don’t have for expansive mechnised operations). oh, not enough SAMs either now in Russia. Funny that. Also, GBAD is getting rarer.
