I think heās got himself in a corner, there was that G7 meeting a month ago where he waltzes in, late, declaring āIām the bossā. Something changed there, Macron and others had him in a corner.
My reading is he, Trump, needed something for the Gulf situation and that was granted for support for Ukraine.
Unfortunately this will take time due to the mess Trump has created.
Itās a normal evolution if you think about it. Russia under Putin will never look seriously at a peace plan, let alone peace, so American foreign policy had to give at some point however mad the deciders are.
That guy has had to smile and eat so much shit for his country. Absolutely appalling to see him sitting across from her, but I absolutely understand why he is doing it.

My interpretation is that Trump (and MAGA) are essentially just bullies, and bullies will never support the underdog. In fact they will stick the boot in.
With Ukraineās fortunes taking a turn for the better, and Russia struggling, their allegiances are changing. At least for the moment.

When the BBC didnāt have programmes to show, they would leave a static test picture on the TV with stock, royalty free library music playing. It just struck me as an unusual way of doing it.
