Sounds like he’s resigned so not sure he can be called a victim, really.
That’s a real surprise. Given how far we are into pre-season I can’t see why he would leave.
England Job will be available in two years.
Apparently he’s been thinking it over for the last couple of months, given they’ve sold most of their best players, and probably will sell their captain this summer, bought hardly anyone except some unproven kids, I think he’s had enough of The Project.
They just got their arses handed to them in preseason by Bristol City which, while it may not have had any bearing on his decision, is at least quite funny.

They are losing their best players and the replacements arent good enough.
They cant spend while City can despite have 115 charges hanging over them.

Could be a case of him being politely ushered out rather than pushed. Optics are nicer given hes actually done well there and won them their first trophy in yonks.
Then again could be he can see it all starting to fall apart and he wants out before the wheels fully come off.

I have never imbibed energy drinks so haven’t the foggiest idea what that means but the thought of highly caffeinated magpies going after anything shiny sounds like it will be entertaining for the remainder of the transfer window

Eddie Howe has left his role as Newcastle United head coach after 231 games and just under five years at St James’ Park.
His exit comes in the wake of a 4-1 defeat by Bristol City in a pre-season friendly at Ashton Gate on Wednesday evening, after which he hinted at changes at the club. “There has been a lot of change at the football club and potentially more to come,” he said when asked about his optimism ahead of the new season.
No, not pished. Pushed. But he may be quite pished by now.

Luke Edwards has just said that it was Howes choice. Given how wrong he has been about Isak, Tonali, Gordon, and now Guimaraes, i assume he is also wrong about this.

I could imagine that, as @ZinedineBiscan says, the transfer situation has been a key factor. He has for a few seasons now wanted to bring in players closer to being the finished article rather than younger players needing development. There was obviously a need to sell players this summer to put them in a position where they can spend.
Last summer’s changes in recruitment were seen as him increasing his control. But it is looking like this market, perhaps along with the rolling back of the fund backing the club, has in someways taken that control from him.
The club are receiving big offers for several key players but are struggling to bring in players with a similar established profile to replace them with. There was probably also a feeling that they needed to do some business just to fix their attacking issues from last summers failed business.
Having come close to building a team to challenge regularly for CL places or trophies, he may have just reached a stage where he doesn’t want to take a step back to rebuild from a much lower base again.

I can see what they find attractive about Jaissle; he is accustomed to training and developing very young players. (He comes from the “RB school of thought”—first a youth coach in Leipzig, then in Salzburg etc.)
