The Sackrace Thread

Nah, this is pretty much 100% of them glad he is gone. 5 pages, and only 1 post was even slightly positive towards him.

Think back to when FSG finally bit the bullet and sacked Woy. That is what Wolves fan forums are like right now

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been seen at Molineux ahead of Wolvesā€™ huge fixture with Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.

Not sure you can read too much into Ole being there yesterday.

Was close to McKenna from their days at Utd, so could have been invited to meet up with his old mate.

But how great would it be to see Ole back at the wheel.

He did well at Bournemouth, but it was telling that Hughes was quick to replace him with someone he rated higher as soon as it was feasible to do so. It didnt seem deserved from the results, but Hughes was on the inside and had access to more information. This is an underperformance given their players. And when you see how it spiraled - Lemina was relieved of club captaincy during the week after his blow up the week before - my guess is there is just a lack of authority about the way he goes about his role as a #1. The list of people who are well regarded for their ability to work with players and set out a game plan but dont have the gravitas to be the boss is extremely long.

But also I just looked at this run of results. They have lost 4 in a row including this loss to Ipswich and getting smashed by Everton. These are relegation 6 pointers and with Leicester up next you can see why Wolves did it and did it now.

I have seen it a few times on here decisions being questioned but Iā€™ve known fans from those clubs and it seems obvious.

Two in as many days. Ouch.

Ole coming back

It will be interesting to see how it turns out for Guardiola. He has loads of credit in the bank with Man City, but strangely, the players might not be listening to him any more and it is stale and needs a refresh. Will it be a new team that he buys, and he goes again? Tricky with PSR and all the charges.

So I think there is a decent chance that Guardiola wonā€™t be there for the duration, but he wonā€™t be unceremoniously dumped, more like an ambassadorial sort of role, or a role similar to Jurgenā€™s RB role, for the City group of clubs.

They are getting closer to something needing to change. A new voice to speak to the players, or new players to hear Guardiolaā€™s voice once more.

Right now itā€™s stale, the team is getting older, and justice is hopefully coming.

You love to see it.

I see Pep Ljinders has been sacked by RB Salzburg.

Time to get Bajetic back?? I really hope Clark can stay on there and his career not suffer.

Surprising statā€¦

There have been 91 times when a team have parted company with their manager while in the drop zone - and on 36 of those occasions they avoided relegation.

That is a success rate of 40%, so we know the difficult decision can work.

Of those 36 cases, five of the teams were exactly five points adrift when the manager left, like Wolves.

So, Klopp sacks his old pal so soon into the new season? Freaking kneejerker!

Be intriguing how long they lasted after that.

Klopp doesnā€™t start til January

Ah, didnā€™t know that, cheers!

As I said in the other thread, there are similar murmurings at Leipzig with the growing feeling that Rose needs to go and a sense of discomfort at trying to do that once Jurgen comes in given his strong relationship to Rose (he played for him at Mainz and has been a mentor in his coaching).

Looks like West Ham have sacked Lopetegui and are looking to replace him with Potter.
