The Space Thread

Nothing against exploration as long as it’s not the first step to exploitation, but really our priority has to be to stop destroying this planet before we start trying to colonise new ones. That shouldn’t even be a discussion.

We’ll never stop destroying the earth. That’s why we need to leave. The human race is a horrific thing to a healthy planet, a cancer. We stay here, we’re dead.

We move onto another planet again, to fuck it up again, and so forth. Instead of completing an achievable target (keep planet Earth inhabitable and a nice place to live), let’s destroy it completely while trying to achieve a much more difficult task, which is to colonise other places in space, which we can then eventually destroy too.

Seriously, I completely agree with @Bekloppt’s take: there shouldn’t be any time nor ressources wasted for space colonisation projects before planet Earth is secured.

Any invention going towards new performing technologies, solar for instance, any social breakthrough to bring more justice and equity to the world, outweighs by far these fancy projects.

Space exploration, a big yes at all times from me. Mars colonisation? Worthless.

A virus!!!

I though this was fantastic. To my knowledge they didn’t build a gazillion prototypes that blew up on launch pads or crashed either. But then its a social media world now so keeping your profile high is important.

Hypergolic thrusters are well proven and massively tested by NASA. Tricky but old tech.

Just saw this which I think is fantastic.

Come on SN 10, stick that landing! 10 mins folks, youtube everyday astronaut.

Which is this one?

SN 10 of the starship series. Up and land. Please please please.

Stopped it. Oh well, still in one piece. Scrubs are cheaper than booms!

Possible launch later today apparently. Love this stuff, like being there for the Apollo program  Me and rockets, who’d believe it

Musk tweeted higher than expected thrust level from one engine caused an auto abort. They’ve raised the limit and trying again. Love this company!

SpaceX have stated that their first ship to land on Mars will be the Heart of Gold. If you know, you know. If you don’t, READ MORE !

Anybody else notice the parallels between the Elon Musk story and this 1976 film?

Just saying.

If you like Space, watch the Apple TV series. For All Man Kind. It’s basically set in an alternative reality where the Russians landed on the moons first.

Makes you think where we could be if the space race had continued.
