Is that Do Not Appoint?

You can sort of understand Man Utd going back to Ole, but I would have said it would have been a massive error in my view, I was a bit disappointed they plump for Carrick.

However it would have still been miles better of an appointment than Tactics Tim whose only highlight in his previous stint was to throw away his gillet when they conceded and sit in the stands for a half.

They’ve appointed Igor Tudor…

Poor Tactics Tim after the one man sales pitch for the job he did on Sky Sports.

What a random choice.

At least he is a manager.

Like I couldn’t give a shit but I never quite understood this. Did Pep know Man City? Did Klopp know Liverpool.

Great idea get someone in who knows absolutely nothing about the club. That will lift the players spirits. Just relegate us already and be done with it!!

Who the devil is this…

Very odd choice, but they must have dropped massively in the eyes of prospective managers. Maureen booted days before a cup final, Poch booted after a cl final with an aging squad they refused to reinvest in, Conte booted for calling out the stingy owners, even Ange calling them out in an interview a day or two ago.

They were on the crest of joining the upper echelons of English football for a short while. They’ve ballsed it up royally. Spursy that

Particularly interested about the time he’s spent managing clubs, he’s been at 9 different clubs with the longest one reigning just shy of 2 years…the other 8 clubs weren’t even a year long.

Even on an interim basis, I wonder what could go wrong here…

Maybe they’re looking from a point of view that he’s been at big(ger) clubs both as a player and coach, as a character (who can have temperament issues sometimes) he doesn’t tolerate any bullshit, was a CB/DM as a player so could struck an understanding with their CB’s who are important in that team, can speak English and from what I know did alright when he was called in similar situations just to do a short term job, bring it over the line.

Terrible appointment, Spurs’ relegation odds just became a lot more tempting.

He will keep them up.

He actually started well in the Juve role.

Is John Heitinga also keeping his assistant coach job at Spuds?

I think he’s staying for now.

Although I remember I couldn’t stand Sherwood at the time.

These days when I hear him talk about football, I wonder how did he ever get even the small chance he did at this level.

Small sample size. That makes it even clearer what a mistake it was getting rid of Pochettino.

He was part of Harry’s coaching staff and then got promoted to some DoF style position. So it was a case of him “coming downstairs” to take over the first team on what was initially supposed to be an interim basis. But I guess permanent managers at spurs are really only ever interim.

Funilly enough I’d forgotten Nuno ever managed them :joy:

Yeah I know, that’s why I said even that ‘small’ chance.

They’re likely going to go full circle if they go back to Poch this summer.

Being close, but not happy enough with “only” being close, then going for a few winning coaches, then a mixture of attacking and more pragmatic ones, but under all of them they fell from being close to being further away.

Of course, the playing squad also changed during that time and other things were improved. So things have to be put into context.
