I think it has got better but I suspect that some rely on blind translation.
I can remember years ago that my brother picked up some beans from a Chinese grocery in Liverpool. The label was in both Chinese and English, and I think there was a warning about keeping the container airtight, except they confused “air” with “wind”.
Anyway, “Wind from beans causes offensive smell” was possibly valid, but maybe not the message that they were trying to convey.
