The thread for those Vile Cheats Manchester City. Who cheated!

But it’s not simply ‘defending themselves’ , it’s them denying everything and absolving themselves whilst simultaneously accusing the court / commission of a conspiracy and decrying the whole process as invalid.

Maybe a better analogy might have been to a guy doing life for murder who is unable to get parole (leniency in this case) because he refuses to admit to a crime that he says he did not commit.

With guys like this on the trail of the Cheaters in connection with the ‘shady’ behaviour that is the PGMOL… won’t be much longer before the whole ‘house of cards’ comes tumbling down…
Whether to conspiracy theorist or not, this is well worth a watch because it digs into the grey area background and helps clear up so much - Will post in the referee thread also.

in this case.

They are charged for non cooperation with the process. Someone feel free to correct me but they can’t punish you for not admitting guilt, they can give you a lighter sentence for admission. The appeals process is there for people to fight against what they believe is a wrong decision. You don’t get punished for using the system.

You can absolutely get sanctioned for pursuing arguments with little or no merit

for frivolous arguments? like disputing you are john smith when all this factual evidence shows that you are john smith? you can appeal on a point of law and they can reject your appeal, but it would have to be obvious and provable that you did this with the intent of wasting time and be frivolous?

The issues with the conduct are about how they went about complying with the regs and engaged with the investigation. They are not required to admit their guilt up front, but the regulations have good faith clauses explicitly stated, that City have violated in multiple ways, for the same reason drug tested sports treat refusing to take a drug test the same as the most serious category of test failure.

Yep.
No different to a club contesting a 3 match suspension of one of their players, and the suspension being increased to 4 matches on the basis of it being a groundless challenge

Kopstar, sorry if its a daft question , but we all know they have cheated etc…

But…with Burnhams “pressure” on the premier league and the possibility of it all being swept under the carpet and everton probably being docked points for it all( joke)…

Would there be any possibility for uefa , to ban premier league clubs from European football tournaments as a punishment for the league in their eyes being corrupt ?

yeah they don’t tend to be contested unless it is obvious/media backlash. If someone headbutts a player and then a club tries to claim it isn’t violent conduct, then you might get an extra game, it is pretty rare but then it is pretty rare we hear of red cards being appealed against when they are obvious. I would think to get punished for using an appeals process , it would have to be for a daft reasoning. I was pretty tunneled on courts and things like dwp processes though… so happy to have this pointed out.

Edit overusage of the word ‘pretty’ . apologies.

Not to sidetrack this into a politics thread in the absence of one, although politics have got themselves involved in this topic.

Looks like man of the people (not) Burnham has dug himself a rather uncomfortable hole

Not a lawyer here…but going by history, FIFA has suspended football associations when their government gets involved in the direct running of the football association.

The interesting part here is that this is a PL probe aka an internal regulator probe. PL’s regulator is the FA itself. The FA in turn is watched by an independent body, the IFR.

Burnham pressuring the PL and subsequently the FA and even the IFR is really not the same as directly controlling the FA itself…So unless Burnham decides to directly control the FA, there is really nothing much that FIFA or UEFA could do about this.

I stand corrected at this interpretation.

FIFA have taken a pretty liberal interpretation of political influence, and so ordinarily a UK government being shown (to what degree that influence can be documented is just another can of worms) to influence the punishment would be enough. Of course, that would put FIFA at odds with a big money group and there is every reason to think that for the benefit of the UAE, and preserve the handouts coming their way, they would refuse to intervene.

I despise his popularist clap. Trap. More give aways more tax. Then he showed his true colours. but we could have single working mum, never tried to make money avoiding tax or second jobs Angela Raynor. .
