PL didn’t issue the verdict.
Independent investigation team did.
Although after seeing bungling Burnhams attempt then retraction at getting involved, i wouldn’t be surprised if the investigation wasn’t truly independent
Proper punishement, commensurate with their crimes isn’t a shit show.
Surely that is all, any of us want
Seriously mate.

Man City have been found totally guilty. By some of the best retired judges of the land. On all charges. They previously dodged a guilty verdict in a technicality. End of.
Nothing will truly rectify wha they have perpetrated.
But theyHAVE to be punished. And punished severely.
Whether it happens or not is another matter.
You’re worried about me? That’s kind, but why? Because I call a spade a spade and call them cheaters, or Man Cheaty?
Don’t worry, I won’t lose my sleep over this however this pans out, although I enjoy to see these fuckers getting the public shame treatment they deserve, and one can always dream: maybe they’ll eventually also get the punishment they deserve.
If you don;t think that is going to be a shitshow. wait till it happens. Everyone wanting a bigger piece of the pie. you might only be looking at the punishment for city. i am not only looking at that .
Many posters, myself included, have based their whole careers on this approach.
Listen
I don’t agree with you on this.
At all.
But that’s the moot point (not the Man Cheaty guilty verdict).
You know why?
Because it won’t make a blind bit of difference to what happens.
Nor will you convince anyone with your viewpoint on this.
i saw you say about being disenchanted with football recently. that made me feel a little sad that someone who devotes their time to a football forum, feels that way. Football should be something that bring us together, makes us laugh, gives us absolute joy. i sometimes do wonder how the old mods and members of TIA are doing. I always thought the mods were fair.. even when i ws suspended and banned numerous times ![]()
Good Lord…how long until the fucking football starts again?

I am not here to convince you. I am in a one man cult
get your bloody own cult.
we both want them to be punished at the end of the day. Just i lookat the after affects for us as fans and human beings. you lot care about the punishment and i care about the feelings of the fans and nearly men down the line. There are enough people talking about the punishment and stuff like that.
Technically not until a year or two after they bought the club. The acquisition was completed in September 08, and FFP was not conceptually approved until the following year, was formalized over the course of the next year and was followed by a multi year phased implementation to get clubs used to the reporting requirements and give them chance to get into compliance with the limits, before coming in officially for the start of the 2012 season.
Some people have used that as some sort of mitigation, as if the owners had the rules changed on them suddenly after having spent the money to buy the club, but that is bollocks. FFP rules when they came in where a good decade in the making - Platini had been pushing them since early in the 00s and so it was clear when they bought it that some form restrictions were going to come in to prevent rich new owners using their own money to build a new super club. Abu Dhabi may have bought city thinking there was a small window of opportunity to speed run their development so they had a more established financial baseline for when whatever the spending regulations that were going to come in got finalized, but that isnt consistent with the investigations findings, where they started small and accelerated even after they had achieved the sporting success that should have made them a legitimate commercial powerhouse.
well hello there, i am surprised you haven’t changed your name to BDSM..
good to see you
Unfortunately the international break will out last his keyboard
Ah I get you now. Yeah, I’ve become a bit disenchanted with this circus, but not when it comes to football as such. I still enjoy watching a good game or a good player when I see one. But modern day high-level football is riddled with greed, the money is too much. FIFA has devolved into a big mafia, UEFA isn’t far behind, and the PL especially, of all leagues, embodies the tendency of football to become nothing but a big lucrative entertainment business.
And when you come to think about, within the PL, which club is the most telling symbol of that devolution since around 15-20 years? Cheaty. So, if they could be punished as they deserve, it would at least represent a move in the direction of more sporting integrity. I’m not holding my breath, but I certainly hope that they’ll get their just reward for their cheating which is:
- taking their titles away from them (just like Armstrong lost his titles when he was proven to be a cheater), and force them to give the money back which they won by winning these titles
- chasing them from the PL
- being pursued by many other clubs for their financial losses because of their cheating
- nail down the people who have been behind this construct, and still are, and draw them in front of judges
- forcing the owners to sell what remains from the club and to fuck back off to where they came from
Here’s a somewhat concerning article about Rui Pinto:
I can agree with this part. It would have been better all round if they were not guilty.
Unfortunately, that’s not where we are. They have been found guilty in the past. And in this instance that have been found guilty of 114/115 charges. It’s pretty damning.
Yes, they have another avenue for appeal, which they are using, but there’s no irrefutable evidence. If there was, they would have provided it and all this would have been done and dusted years ago.
I am all for giving someone the benefit of the doubt and allowing due process to run its course, but the case with Man City has long since strained credulity.
They are cheats. It is crystal clear. They have spent tens of millions of pounds to try to bully their way out of it, but the truth is a very powerful thing.
Their last throw of the dice, which we are seeing before sanctions hit, is to threaten to withdraw billions in investment from the UK economy.
It is an appalling thing to do, and definitely not the actions of an innocent party with an irrefutable body of evidence.
They are bullies, cheating bullies, and they need to be smacked down hard, not least as a vital step toward getting our game back.
I couldn’t agree more. You’ve put everything what should happen, labelled lots that is wrong with the game, shown an understanding that sporting integrity might not be what we get. You;ve said what i have tried too! I do think that any monies like i said yesterday, should be given to charity.. someone else said grassroots football. I am glad to know that you still have hope in your heart !
Is this line of reasoning more easily swept aside by the fact that when those rules did come in, City voted for them?
I was already leaning towards this idea for some time. And this, for me, gives more credence to the notion.
Both in football (and life in general):
Don’t take things too seriously.
