The thread for those Vile Cheats Manchester City. Who cheated

One of the key things for me is the £900m cheat money has been used to build the club. It sunk and they are benefitting year on year even if they aren’t cheating now.(which they might be).

The punishment needs to address this. It needs to hit them hard enough financially to re baseline the club. Back to where they would have been without cheating. Then the benefit is lost.

Oh and all titles taken away - even those after the cheating period for the reasons above.

That’s what led to the outcome being leaked

There is a common perspective that this whole thing has been bad for the league and its reputation, but I dont get that. City’s cheating is a stain, but that is a turd that was served to the people now running the league and was already hanging over us regardless of whether there would be a response after the collapse of the UEFA case. The league has responded responded in a way that has made the best of a bad situation and salvaged a significant degree of credibility with how seriously they took it and how comprehensive a finding they were able to win. I think they appreciate they need to finish the job, as going half arse with the punishment will undo a lot of that salvage work. A meek punishment that allows City to continue competing at the highest level will be the worst possible outcome for their own reputation.

Kacism is a real thing

Does the leak increase the danger of Man City getting off on appeal?

It’s very unfortunate, as it just adds fuel to their cartel claims.

He had me until he mentioned making fun of other fans.

Despicable behaviour I would never indulge in.

There is argument amongst City fans and their apologists that expelling them would be bad for the league. And leaving them there wouldn’t be?

I love that the Loon has about 3 posts per page which means their ‘We Cheated’ thread is almost 10,000 pages.

Well then…that’s a pretty fucking weird stat…

Lots of people went to a Cheaty game 100 years ago!!

The interesting thing is that they never actually filled their capacity until it went all-seater.

Yeah I guess that’s a really fair point. I suppose somewhere along the line there’ll be that first thing they win post punishment that might feel like the denial of egregious, be that the Championship or L2.

I think in the scenario I suggested the relegation is going to have a financial impact that means they’ll have to break up the team. And any sense that it’s worth some loyal players hanging on is extinguished by knowing there’s future punishments to come that means the top players will all want to leave.

Chuck in a hefty fine and some transfer restrictions and you might do enough to stop them bouncing straight back up but certainly enough to make a first season back in the PL anything but one that guarantees their survival come the end of the season.

Unfortunate, but it won’t affect the appeal.

They won their one of two top flight titles that they won before the cheat money came through that season.

They then got relegated the season after :joy:

Yes I shook my head when I saw who they chose but I will wait until the game.

I agree they have followed the rules very tightly and their owners are represented by a figurehead I think but if shitty get exonerated then they will say fuck it why should I anymore.

Newcastle’s owners have failed to deliver on a series of promises that mainly just required they spend money they were legally allowed to spend. They have since publicly said that PIF’s sporting investments are being rebalanced to focus on domestic not international spending.
