Fair play to United fans, this made me smile…
Meanwhile, United’s fans have delivered their own verdict by getting a ‘ticker’ banner showing the years since Manchester City last won a trophy rehung from the Stretford End.
The banner was initially displayed in 2000, at which point it was 24 years since City’s last silverware - the 1976 League Cup.
It was increased by one each year until 2011 when City finally ended their trophy drought by beating Stoke City in the FA Cup final.
However, fans have a new version to display for this weekend’s visit of Tottenham to Old Trafford, with the number 50 - signalling the years since their 1976 League Cup triumph, their final silverware before Sheikh Mansour bought the club.

Arsenal went 22 years before ending their draught.

I mean prior to the Premier League, Liverpool, Arsenal and United were amongst the most successful teams.
Now, if it was Everton, Villa or possibly even Sunderland, I could understand that argument.

The whole red cartel thing is so astonishingly stupid. So much of the discourse on this (that one if you @wyld.at.hrt) consists of people creating stories requiring that extremely well known events of the last 15 years are wiped from our collective memories.
Do people not remember what was happening at Liverpool in 2010? Is that the position from which to say “if everything stays like this for ever that will be great for us?” We had owners who bought us and brought us back from the brink of administration and over the course of 10 years of strictly working within the rules, making big sacrifices along the way, put us into a position where we could conceivably gain sporting benefit from everyone being required to only eat what they kill. So many of the clubs and their fans complaining just dont want to do the hard work of building the club up over the long term.
These clubs talk about ambition being curtailed, but by ambition they mean “winning the being bought by a sovereign wealth fund lottery.” And how much ambition is really on show if its only valuable to you if you can achieve it in the near term? Isnt real ambition far better displayed by doing the hard things every day and accepting it will take years to get to the top.

Someone said MAGA but their fanbase seriously gives me Conspiracy theories vibes from during the pandemic.
I avoided commenting on it, but I think this is very accurate. And not just the conspiratorial thinking, but just the overall really bad epistemology. People being driven by what they preferred were true without reasonable consideration of what is actually true.

The former players, the manager, the present players, are all in denial that these charges seem to exist…they need reminding that they were found guilty of 114/115 charges, do they think denial = innocent…lets hope all the shit sticks..

I think the comments from Achtenberg and have been said elsewhere in similar tones is that everyone knew. Everyone knows none of this is a shock. Even when Gary Linkear is saying just accept it and take the punishment it’s so blatantly obvious everyone knows.
