The thing about āred cartelā that really annoys me, is that it totally fails to account for way our commercial potential is constrained by the leagueās collective bargaining on TV. They want to be free to do whatever want, while still earning money well above their station by piggy-backing our global pulling power.
Now, Iām totally in favour of the collective TV deal, and Iām not really a fan of the idea of United and Liverpool negotiating their own deals and sailing off into the distance, but this is really the monied clubs wanting to have their cake and eat it.
