The TV Thread redux (Part 2)

What’s she doing now? She did a sketch show for the BBC a few years ago that I thought was pretty good.

Wasnt that back in the 80’s?

I’m guessing late 2010s because we were still living in Scotland when it was on. It was impersonations as sketches, often satire. She did Angela Merkel and Nicola Sturgeon in it.

What was laughable about it?

I was really disappointed with S4. Tracey Ulman was dreadful. The romantic plots were tired, and I felt like they didn’t really get to develop the player’s characters until the final few episodes. Maybe S5 will see a return to form …

If anyone is in the Merseyside area, is the Channel 4 player working?

I’ve had a call from my mother and she keeps getting a message saying “Geolocked” when she tries to play Bake Off. I think it is a Roku stick.

I am watching the long awaited Crystal Lake, the Jason Voorhees prequel show that has been in development for about 15 years in one form or another. It’s awful.

Lioness S1.

I didn’t mind it, start was a bit of a rough ride despite the tackyness behind stumbling her way into a marine building…which looked like it was situated in the middle of the high street or something. Middle was largely good followed by an ending that fizzled out like a damb squib after the build up looked to set up a promising finale.

Just started s4 of Dark Winds. Doesnt seem to have gathered as much attention in the UK as earlier seasons.

Well it wasn’t actually a safe house, but would have done fine as one if the kid didn’t keep turning on his phone. There were plenty of other holes in the story, but didn’t think the house was particularly one of them.
